Yea everyone is stockpiling with all their savings, it is good for delaying stagnation / catastrophic collapse. People spending all their money than sudden brake to the economy and withdrawal of savings from banks.. After couple of months, when they run out of cash or stocked enough.. What will businesses sell? sudden stagnation bankruptcies then unemployment, then banks run out of cash and financial collapse follows. If USD goes 20 this is what will happen, financial genius controlling the country will destroy everything. Waiting and watching with popcorn, I already stocked everything except fuelI paid today 115 TL fir 5 litres of sunflower oil at the Kooperatif Tarim Market.
A pack of 32 rolls of toiletpaper was 90 TL.
Despite the increase of prices, people are consuming, consuming and consuming.
If something will save the economy, its the domestic consumption.
People are stocking nowadays. They all know things won't straighten or stabilize till June, they are at least marking a stop-gap.I paid today 115 TL fir 5 litres of sunflower oil at the Kooperatif Tarim Market.

I've heard that Erdogan is considering making stockpiling goods illegal, is that true?People are stocking nowadays. They all know things won't straighten or stabilize till June, they are at least marking a stop-gap.
Not for private citizens but for producers and trading companies. It really is a problem, though. We can't put in orders because some companies up the production chain are refusing to sell materials even though we're paying them in EUR. This is not acceptable although the the problem behind this behavior is obviously created by wrong policies.I've heard that Erdogan is considering making stockpiling goods illegal, is that true?
It's pure Erdogan. Remove him from the equation and you'll see how fast Turkey gets back on track.I was just reading up on Turkey and the inflation. Seems a bit crazy. Is it mismanagement by Erdogan? Or American sanctions? What's the cause?
I can imagine he then is deeply unpopular now. It's pure Erdogan. Remove him from the equation and you'll see how fast Turkey gets back on track.

That 30% will erode pretty quickly, imo. Economy will get far worse than it is now. People will learn the hard way of not trusting Erdogan's populist rhetoric.True, but he still gets ~30% of the votes in many polls. Never forget one thing with regards to Turkey's political landscape: the opposition is Erdoğan's main supporter. Their displayed incompetency, elitism and failed populism made Erdoğan gain votes throughout the years again and again.
This time the opposition has a real chance to drive him out of office. Having said that, the main opposition party, which is the Kemalist CHP, is famous for ruining everything shortly before closing the deal.
This is Turkey. You never know what's going to happen next. Even if he loses the next election, there's still a chance to form a right wing government by excluding CHP, albeit this is just speculation atm.

I always knew you're a troll but you're on a new dimension now. It's still tasteless though. The dollar will collapse worldwide and take the euro with it.
So in fact Erdogan is giving the Turkish people a fastforward feeling of de-dollarization of the economy.
When the US dollar collapse, every Western economy will crash but the Turkish economy will get less damage.
And then the Balkans are part of Turkey again and Besiktas can swith from black & white to their original red & white colours.

The most horrible thing is: stores and shops are increasing the prices with the argument that the lira is losing value against the dollar/euro.
But when this crisis is over (new government, recovery etcetera) and the lira is gaining value again, the prices will not go down, they will stay the same.
Everyone says on the streets "Whats go up, will never get down".
Thats the biggest theft in history. Thats why i hope that people stop consuming and that these shops, stores, markets all die in poverty.
This tiktok video is perfect to get across the message.I'll give you points for creativity.
You don't seem to get how markets work...
Multiple suppliers means when input price drops, price-control cooperation is impossible (simply too many moving parts given their numbers and competition).

This is what Iam always thinking about exactlyI really don't understand why Erdogan is forcing his economic policy 1 year before the election ? It would be much more understandable if he impose it after he won , not before . why he is taking the risk of losing all votes before the election while he really can make things better for him ?
here in the US, on the election year and a bit before it Trump did retract most of his policy and statements in order to get more votes . it's not only trump but all world politicians in general do try to fix things before the election period .
what's going on inside erdogan mind ?
