From this,

To this news,

WDYT ? Is there any chance to build submarine beyond Type 209 template ? Or it just to purchase a complete set of tooling for mae another Type 209 subs ?

In other hands, I don't think if 🇮🇩 MoD want annother lag behind our precius investor 🇸🇬

Just wait for at least April just like i said before in my previous comment, that's the deadline of PSP 2021 allocation budget, some hundreds million US Dollar for interim subs can be used as downpayment for Submarine acquisition with modification in contract use.

That's how Rafale deals would be concluded btw, they would use budget for interim fighter psp 2021 budget

In overall extra money and time needed for bringing the shipyard, technicians and engineers up to the level to support construction of those hulls.

If they only count the surface combatants with guided missile, but yeah long live...

A personal thread of mine about naval balance in Asia Pacific. I'll kept on updating.

I don't really trust this JP article, why he still enthusiastically meet Naval Group then?
Apart from that, shouldn't Indonesian Navy be busy with mastering submarine operations with at least using the Nagapasa class before eyeing the 2000+ tonnes double decker submarine?
How do they plan to cope with advanced electronics and command components without first mastering the entry level submarine?

Brazilian sign contract for Riachuelo class in 2009 and get the first unit in 2020, there is still time.

Brazilian Navy only using u209 too before, and Malaysia never even use submarine before, how about adopting their learning curve?

The news is telling by 2024 (yes technically impossible, even 2026-2027 is technically impossible but i am lazy to convince people on those), for Brazil yes they have had enough time to be adjusted with new tech, plus they have been upgrading their U209 throughout the time and actively using the upgraded hulls.

For Malaysia, would you consider Malaysian submarine force as lethal anytime soon or on par with the any regional power? Since the news is again stating Indonesian Navy's goal to be on par with regional powers.
