This isn’t a healthy topic guys. People should do what is best for them and government should so what is best for the country.

No transparency, no prosecutor means the current government can f up even more. No one but elections left to determine the future of our economy.

My uncle told me seydisehir aluminium factory was sold off to far below market value and other things.

A question Japan and South Korea are both developed and advanced countries but why are their currency so bad I converted Turkish lira to both but wow it really shocked me.

1 turkish lira is 13.44 japanese yen
1 turkish lira is 145.51 south korean won

Anybody good with currency can explain??

A short answer would be that a strong currency effect the export negatively. While a weak currency makes it cheaper to export.

That’s why you’d normally look PPP+GDP to see how well a country is doing.

Even if SK currency has a high exchange rate. You have to look at how volatile it is.

As an example Japans currency has pretty much protected it’s exchange rate for the past 20 years, around 6 or so.

Not long ago when we had 20 mio bills in Turkey ppl would get paid insane amounts as well. So it’s all psycological.

If a countries economy is crap you’læ constantly see other currencies become more expensive to acquire

I'm not an expert but I would not look at the absolut Numbers to determine if a currency is strong or not. Not a long time ago the lira looked like this:

I think you have to put the currencies in relation to time to determine if a currency is strong or not. Let's take a look:

Lira/yen:
20201011_185923.jpg
In 2007 you would get 95 yen for 1 lira (now 13 yen). Conclusion lira is weak against yen.

Lira/Won:
20201011_185901.jpg
In 2008 you would get 846 won for 1 lira (now 145 won). Conclusion lira is weak against won.

So what is the overall conclusion? The bitter truth is that the lira is a damn weak currency! I don't know one serious currency that is weaker than the lira.

Congrats to the Damat, Turkey is becoming the destination for cheap labor, as he also stated they are using decreasing living conditions and devaluing currency as a leverage for attracting investments.
Agree. What’s more they should move their Turkish workers with the factory.

We need a high minimum wage. Fighting the inflation rate is more important.

Lacking qualified workforce. Wouldn’t that be from vocational schools As I imagine we do have a decent amount of engineers etc.

So in 8 months we've paid taxmoney to facility service management firms that could have covered the same cost of building 17 hospitals with 500 beds ?

This is called "kendi yaraklarini yaglamak".

I've noticed that you stay silent on somethings, but appear to defend AKP on others :)

May I ask, what do you think of this:

Danistay rules the sale of Aluminum factory in Seydisehir illegal. But AKP still finds a way to let their "friend" CE-KA Insaat keep the factory.

You never answered back on the Kütahya airport either.
