Chahid Al-Hafed, February 13, 2022 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, the Secretary-General of the POLISARIO Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, received today the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Honduras, Mr. Gerardo Torres Zelaya, at the last stop of his working visit to the Sahrawi Republic.

Mr. Gerardo Torres, confirmed in a statement to the Saharawi News Agency “SPS” after the meeting, that the visit comes to the Sahrawi Republic as an embodiment of the principle of reciprocity, after the recent visit of Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Salek to Honduras on January 27 to participate in the swearing-in ceremony for the President Xiomara Castro, adding that it comes also as a part of the friendship and solidarity between the two brotherly peoples and their governments.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Honduras has arrived on Saturday morning, in the Sahrawi refugee camps, during which he met with leaders of the Saharawi state and the POLISARIO Front. He was also briefed on the experience of the Saharawi state in several areas through his visit to several national institutions.

Bir Lahlou (Liberated Territories), 12 February 2022 (SPS) - Units of the Saharawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) targeted Friday the entrenchments of soldiers of the Moroccan occupation in the Hawza sector, according to military communiqué No. 457 of the National Ministry of Defense.

The communiqué stressed that advanced SPLA detachments targeted the entrenchments of occupation soldiers in the Hawza sector, with violent and concentrated shelling, targeting the regions of Aksibi El Nelkla, Aksibi Amechgheb and Laksibi Laksser.

SPLA detachments had focused their shelling Thursday on the entrenchments of occupation soldiers in the sectors of Mahbas, Hawza, El Bekkari and El Farsia, targeting the regions of Akraret El Fersik, Oum El Dakn, Fedret Labir and Rous Tarkant.

SPLA attacks continue to target the entrenchments of the occupation forces along the wall of shame, resulting in considerable human and material losses.

EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Spokesman Peter Stano rejected claims that it was the EU that invited Polisario to take part in the event, saying: “The fundamental point to clarify is that, for this summit, the European Union is co-organizer with the African Union… so it is the African Union which took care of the invitation.”

He added that the invitation from the AU “does not change the position of the European Union” as the European body does not recognize Polisario’s self-proclaimed SADR.
