Russia is going to test its night capabilities most likely.
According to Peter Zeihan the Russians can't fight a night. Which is strange because the British were able to do that in the Falklands war without night vision.

Because the last thing we need is the Russians killing Polish people. NATO nations should stay out at this point. Russia would have every justification to destroy the equipment on the road and even inside NATO territory. Putin said 'don't interfere' and to date he has backed up his words. And as I have said before I am anti-USA, anti-NATO, anti-EU. Russian sided because of that. Plus there are 2,000 British troops in the Baltic states, I don't want them getting mopped up by the Russians because the Polish decided to send ammo to the Ukraine government which the Russians are about to overthrow.
You are the most craven "Brit" I have seen.

Night capabilities only matured during the 90s

I think many users can explain it.

Who is this ghost of Kiev?

He seems to be the new legend of this war that I have been hearing.

Nothing would make me happier than if NATO refused to intervene on the ground, but TARPED the air space over Ukraine, making it a "no fly zone" for either side. Dozens of F-35's, F-16's, F-15's, F-18's, Typhoons, Sukhois and Migs flying interdiction sorties, with all the AWACS, E3 and battle management support they would need in case the Russians decided to come out and play.

Take the Russian air advantage away, ship copious anti-tank weapons, supplies and ammunition into Ukraine from the West, and force Russia to fight a desperate, ugly, savage ground war across Ukraine.

Nothing would make me smile more than knowing that those 20 year old boys were trapped in frozen Ukraine, without air support, surrounded by the "home team", with their mothers waiting for them to come home in body bags and urns.

The goal for the West should be to make the fighting in Ukraine as nightmarish as possible for the Russian troops, so that they face as much suffering as possible, eating away at their will. You can't imagine the ground troops are terribly inspired to fight this war in the first place. If the West can pump in a steady flow of the advanced weapons and ammunition that they Ukraine needs to turn Russian boys into hamburger, their will to fight will fade fast.

Hang in there Ukraine. Stay ruthless. They came to destroy your country. Make it a living hell for them.

Incredible this man survived. And the Russian driver is an idiot.

Just horrendous.

The Ukrainians should tie the crew of that vehicle down in the streets and run them over, for all to see, in broad daylight. Make it slow and painful.

I know the driver survived, but actions involving that type of cruelty should be punished in the most heinous fashion.
