Apc is not that expensive though, why not buying in incremental number, and trying to license producing them.

The APC part is made up probably cause the notice doesn't say anything about it. Though there was a plan to establish a assembly line when we bought 330-645 BTR-80.

Btw, Bangladesh is land based armed Forces. To have serious Investment in army is not solely wrong.

No, it's wrong. All three wings deserve equal attention. Army can have serious investment if it wants but it shouldn't do it by drawing money from BN and BAF's fund. These two wings already get less allocation than army when they are in dire need of modern MRCA, MR-SAM and warships.

not sure what they're trying to do here. Maybe influence the gov to increase the procurement budget

This is probably happening because of the Covid effect for last two years. Modernization was seriously hampered. Also this could be unused budget they're getting.

This is probably happening because of the Covid effect for last two years. Modernization was seriously hampered. Also this could be unused budget they're getting.

Bought Anoa or Komodo from us and we would gladly to setting up assembly line and maintenance center in Dhaka just like previous watercraft deals. Either Indonesia or Turkey is not stingy in transfer of knowledge

The Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed SBP, OSP, NDU, PSC, PhD has been adorned as the "Colonel of the Regiment" of the Regiment of Artillery.

The traditional reception programme was held at the Shaheed Major Nazmul Haque Parade Ground of Artillery Center and School in Halishahar, Chattogram on Monday (28 March) in accordance with the military customs and traditions, said a press release by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

At the ceremony, the Regiment of Artillery's Senior Commander and Master Warrant Officer conferred the honorary "Colonel of the Regiment" rank-badge on the Chief of Army Staff.

On arrival at the parade square, the Chief of Army Staff was formally greeted and was given a guard of honour by a contingent of the Regiment of Artillery.

Through this ceremony, the Chief of Army Staff took over as the "Colonel of the Regiment", the guardian of the Regiment of Artillery in accordance with the traditional military policy.

The Chief of Army Staff addressed the gathering. At the outset of his speech, he paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. At the same time, he commemorated all the heroic freedom fighters, including the heroic fighters of the Regiment of Artillery who had sacrificed their lives in the great war of independence.

He directed all the members of the Regiment of Artillery to continue their relentless efforts in fulfilling any responsibility for the formation of the country and the nation through determination, professionalism and above all team effort, respecting the customs and traditions of the army.

As the anointed "Colonel of the Regiment" of the Army Regiment of Artillery, the Chief of Army Staff laid a wreath at the Memorial of the Liberation War at the Artillery Center and School.

He also inaugurated the Artillery Center and Mujib Battery Road adjacent to the school.

At the end of the ceremony, the Chief of Army Staff of the Regiment of Artillery attended the Annual Commander's Conference-2022.
