But, they are in need of MBT for additional cavalry brigade/units so that's why rumor about T72, altay, leopard 2 or even Korean Made tank.

During next Garuda Shield (August?), ask US Army if they can donate their used MBTs. Money is tight.

What will be the focus of the exercise?
I hope there will be segment of how to move convoy through jungle or off-road, defend against ambush and how to counter or retreat if encountering it.

The thing is our recruitment system is very funny and there are decades long human resource mismanagement.

Tamtama, Bintara, and Perwira, all started recruitment from the same age: 17-18. There's SECATA, SECABA, and AKMIL all open for all high school graduates at the same time. So such a US model of NCO/ Bintara cadre won't work in Indonesia. Two of my former classmates entered Bintara directly after high school graduation, while others tried SECATA and AKMIL unsuccessfully (all roughly the same age but massively different ranks). While some villagers were former military, entered as prajurit and retired a sersan, so he never had the chance to actually exercise "NCO expertise" at all.

So Indonesian recruitment system is not based on such a concept of preparing certain ranks for a certain combat role. For they are prepared for the bureaucratic role instead, literally just filling the numbers because that's what the anggaran demands. The difference between Tamtama, Bintara, and Perwira is simply the level of competition, the prestige, and the price of bribes for you to get admitted. Even if inside the military there's a strict watch on corruption, people outside the military AKA recruits are ripe for exploitation, pay 100 jt for tamtama, 300 jt for bintara, 1 milyar for perwira/ akmil. Of course, people can get in without paying as both of my friends have proven, but this bribe and nepotism culture is still rampant in the military. The personnel numbers you see on statistics don't really have the same idea as what most people expect.

And there's a surplus problem in the officer corps: there are too many officers but not enough job. It has been a thing since the 90s but never fixed even today 30 years later. This means hundreds of officers are jobless, frustrated, and angry. This creates pressure for the government to open more civilian positions for military officers regardless of their actual capability. Such a thing really hampers the professionalization effort away from Dwifungsi. Yet the TNI system is still a leftover of Dwifungsi, so many officers who used to be posted on jabatan sipil suddenly cannot and therefore have no job.
i have just found about the important of NCO article, written in 1950s by Indonesian officer in old Army magazine, H stressed that NCO is vital role for development of the troops
In frem of 50s time, likely there are bunch of seasoned fighters, so they can easily rised as NCO, and service till maybe 60s, But what make me think is, in 50s TNI AD already thinking about important NCO corps

also, sorry for education I think better we eliminate all SMP graduate from TNI (? oh heck it will get massive protest) or maybe let say NCO Bintara just dont let fresh graduate from SMA, but better these SMA boy if want BIntara must have service maybe from KOmcad as Tamtama while he doing hsi duty he can choose either still as cicvilian KOmcad or bcame fully professional army and became NCO

Hoho... talking about Afghanistan, actually the Afghan SF and NDS or other that heavily interacted with NATO forces on the ground were based tho. Even there are proposed idea in UK, I don't remember who proposed it, to integrate ex-Afghan forces that migrated to UK to British Army. So they will operate like the Gurkhas, but they are Afghan.
british indian raj forces wkwkwk

Altay will be using Korean Engine right? But if it means could open another co development with Turkish, it would be noice.
If Turks friend and their company already settle their engine problems. For now, altay using Korean engine, and next if Batu 1500 engine successful, likely Altay will used this engine. Utku 1000 HP already tested for 155 mm Firtina, just crazy idea how about
we have mata kelelawar dont worry

(actually bat has bad eye)

Yıldırım is the old one (J-600T), Khan (export) - Bora (Domestic) is the new one with improved features.
So if they have got anything with ~600mm diameter from Turkey then it is the Khan missile. But i doubt the ToT directly for such a weapon, so why is the renaming?

TRG has series from 107 to 300, then comes the Khan with 610mm.

the multi-caliber platform of Roketsan can handle any of the missiles from 122 to 610 and beyond.

Most likely different launcher vehicles from MAN trucks the Turkish armed Forces use and the vendor itself coming from local partner that's why they are renaming it, why i mention it was Turkey. Because no other western countries producing MLRS at such specific caliber and range, except Turkey. There is no other one in the market. You can said it was China, but the current MoD would Axe the deal even before the proposal got into his table, Pakistan? Forget it already

the specific caliber maybe the only clue, the range has nothing to do with it since every exported TBM will be limited to 280km range due to MTCR compliant.
israeli IAI LORA (610mm) can also included in this category.

(unless you were a crazy rich oil nation like saudi who happened to get it's hand on Dong Feng series)

I don't know about the platform, but the platform is up to the customer (Bangladesh has got Tiger (300mm) with Kamaz i think)

US might also provide ATACMS? Why not?

For once i thought Bandung institute of technology was involved as the main contractor thus it is called ITB-Missile.
Then i have got it was in fact: Indonesian Tactical Ballistic Missile. Yes then makes sense, it is the project code-name not the missile's.

280 km for a ballistic missile is still considered as short range, though.

MTCR compliance

What Made me intrigue is how about the deployment, doctrine and the use of this kind of weaponry. Considering Indonesia is island country, don't have significant threat accross the Border warrant to use such weaponry to leveling enemies proper military infrastructure from long range ground attack (come on Malaysia is not worthy of our attention anymore even as possible OPFOR and Made them suitable target for such system when you already bought ASTROS II and other conventional artillery and MLRS)

Expect we would use those as part of mobile expedition rapid units, able to be deployed forward by using either sealift assets or strategic airlift assets just like HIMARS being operated. Thus i am believe the proper reason we bought them as part of support expedition campaign against a more determined opposition abroad or when one of our big Islands being invaded.

True that, although we're not a member of MTCR which means we can develop and build longer range ballistic missile as we see fit, but it's still not in our immediate reach to do so.

Re: Deployment: Now that you've brought this forward, I'm a bit puzzled as well. That is, unless we opt for missiles with more accurate guidance and targeting system so that it can achieve an accuracy of less than 5 m CEP. In this case, the army will have a long-range precision strike capability far beyond the range of any howitzer smart munition rounds.

I'm more curious why they didn't want to wait and buy cruise missile Matador AV-TM 300 by Avibras. They already bought Astros MLRS from the same company.

AV TM 300 still in development and Army surely want to get them as they have different roles with tactical ballistic Missiles
