"USS Vicksburg (Ticonderoga-class cruiser) is currently undergoing a modernization program costing at least $175 million on a contract that was awarded just two years ago. Yet the 31-year-old vessel is one of five Ticonderoga class guided-missile cruisers the Navy is planning to dispose of in Fiscal Year 2023."
Will USS Vicksburg be worth to get through EDA to satisfy MoD hunger for destroyer, or is it simply too old for us (commissioned 1992)?
Navy Plans To Rid Itself Of Cruisers In Just Five Years
The Navy is looking to retire all of its remaining Ticonderoga class guided missile cruisers within just half a decade.www.thedrive.com
Indonesian Navy operated a bunch of 1980's Warships or more older, several of them just recently going refit like Fatahillah class and slated to service for at least decade more, meanwhile the sixty years old of Van Speijk class looking like grandpa and son compared to Vicksburg
Ticon's ? Explain how are we going to fill the magazine.
122 is a lot of magazine. And it's MK41 which doesn't match with many in the navy missile arsenal.

I am once here to say, annual maintenance (including operation and such) cost of a single Ticonderoga (received as - is with full equipment and capabilities) could be well above maintenance cost of the total fleet TNI, at the moment.Ticon's ? Explain how are we going to fill the magazine.

Yet alone; the keeping the VLS cells filled, is something that even major European Navys struggle to do.
Another thing is (always) the cost. Sejong will cost us close to $1 bil per ship. Second hand Ticons EDA would probably cost us $200-$300 mil (modernization cost). So we could probably get 3 second hand Ticons for 1 Sejong.
For USS Vicksburg the modernization is already on-going. It means faster delivery time as well.

30% of contract value will be for local partner he said. What local company other than PT PAL that can contribute to this submarine project? We still can't produce the steel material for submarine, much less the devices/hardwares inside submarine.
Ok but how about the accuracy issue? Finally DAHANA can make smokeless propellant. Soon Marine won't have any excuse left to reject Rhan 122.
