HAHO/HALO Division are among the most prominent special teams in Morocco due to their many field experiences and their successful operations, especially foreign operations in Zaire, or during the war of the Moroccan Sahara, where they were assigned missions to land behind lines and destroy air defenses or cut off critical supply lines. There they were also called the ghost of the Sahara after landing behind enemy lines, and destroying soviet air defence systems provided by gaddafi and Algeria.
Of course most countries have HALO, but very few who have HAHO specialize in diving into enemy waters. In the African continent, and the arab world this units have appeared in Morocco, and Egypt.
HAHO units open their parachute immediately after jumping from a height of 14 or 15 km, this height causes freezing of blood vessels and the brain, and therefore they must wear special anti-freeze and air pressure clothes and helmets because they stay at a great height for a long time to cut at least 50 km behind enemy lines, unlike HALO that open their parachute at a low altitude after jumping from a height of 8 km, do not require them to wear an anti-freeze helmet.
