Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan: “Commander of motorized rifle regiment was killed”

During the battles in the Khojavend direction of the front, a large number of servicemen were killed as a result of the shelling of underground shelters in the positions of the 3rd motorized rifle regiment of the 37th rifle division of the Armenian armed forces.
As a result of measures taken by the Azerbaijan Army in this direction, the commander of the motorized rifle regiment, colonel Gor Ishkhanyan was also killed.

We can paint TRNC Flag on it for you no need for projector, when it is snowy, white color is easier. Actually in technical perspective, just have a Moon and Star (painted or etc) than use red light with huge projectors. Achievable..

And I think it is extremely useful and effective in terms of demoralizing enemy, I see how Greeks hate our flag on the mountains. They see it everyday, day and night, visible from every angle

People need to stop judging the current conflict based on limited information they have, Azerbaijan is being completely silent about its gains, movements and fightings. The only info we are hearing about Azerbaijani progress is from Armenia itself. if we compare Azerbaijan to Turkey in their perspective wars, Azerbaijan is progressing much faster, while fighting an actual military that has prepared its defenses for 30 years.

Here is a visual presentation of how hard some positions are to take over, here is Shusha, a literal natural fortress. Its gonna be hard and take some time to capture. People need to stop expecting a war to end in a month, thats just not possible in a completely mountains terrain while fighting a properly trained military. No matter how many of us may view Armenia, they still have a very well trained military that has been preparing to fight in such terrain for some time. I expect by the end of this month for Azerbaijan to capture Shusha, Lachin, entire Eastern front (Aghdere, Khojavend and Aghdam) and only few kms away from the capital.

Azerbaijani progress has been impressive in both flat and mountainous terrain.

The best example we have is Afrin OP and comparatively Azerbaijan is doing better. That operation took Turkey about 2 months and Turkey had/has considerably more fire power and if were honest we faced a collection of communist terrorists.

So comparatively its obvious whose doing better. I would also argue that once Turkey got a Russian agreement to smash the place there was no real political or geopolitical pressure on Turkey to get he job done.

The real positive of the Turkish afrin op was that Turkey only lost 60 of her own troops. Which when you consider the fight is a relatively tiny number.

Also the communist shits in Afrin didnt have the hope that someone would save them there, unlike the armenians who are praying for a russian intervention. The armenian leader continues the losing war because hes hoping to be saved. If he didnt have this hope my honest feeling is they would have surrendered by now.

The comparison of the Afrin operation is not a good one to the Karabakh conflict. In Karabakh you got conscripts fighting while in Syria you got battle hardened people which often got more modern weapons than our servicemen and were trained especially for that type of warfare by US unconventional warfare specialists and got all of the experience of 40+ years insurgency operations against NATO's second largest army. Also the operation was not conducted by solely personnel of the Turkish Armed Forces but the majority of the weight was given to SNA and only people seeing their performance and discipline levels can understand how hard it was for our special forces to embed with them and coordinate their units with our conventional forces on the ground. Also the words of that Turkey did not get geopolitical pressure are far from reality. Turkey fought these days not only against terrorists on the ground but also with the majority governments in the EU, the US and Russia. They condemned Turkey, demanded the pullback of Turkish forces and some of them even embargoed the Turkish military but the Turkish Armed Forces were able to continue it's operation completing all of the tasks given successfully which were given with the coordination of the Ministry of Defence, the Presidency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There is also a difference in the scale of the conflict. Karabakh is like 9 times the scale of the Afrin operation.

The situation with Karabakh is not that the Armenian side is very good trained but its hand on heavy equipment, terrain advantage, the nature of the defence (advantage) and the fact that they dig themselves there for 30 years. I am actually not exactly impressed with Azerbaijan's performance taking in account it's firepower and high technology equipment and it is because of the poor performance of the officers while braking the first two defence lines thinking that they can cross minefields with tanks and push on open fields without softening up beforehand or using smoke barrages and neglecting the ATGM threat, usage of old Sovyet style tactics massing big amounts of equipment on one spot relying on the firepower that they cannot use effectively against the enemy. I am not satisfied with the intelligence work in the first week of the conflict. Azerbaijan started to use its artillery and UAVs on the desired level late and many casualties could have been prevented. I don't want to even comment on normal conscript performance because these boys are not professional soldiers but they gave everything including their lives for the good of Azerbaijan and the completion of the given tasks by the officers.

I am however really impressed with the performance of the SOF teams and their successful sabotages and recon operations and out of couple discipline problems however resulting in critical OPSEC and PERSEC breaches that could lead to Azerbaijan being judged on war crimes they did really a great job. They did very good job opening the way for Shusha and I give them the price for the successful push on Zangilan along the Iran-Azerbaijan border and Hadrut. I am also impressed with the late performance of the intelligence after the defensive lines were punctured and pushes on Zengilan and Hadrut were taking place. The drone operators are also on a very high level at what they are doing and gave the heaviest blows to the enemy and it is for sure that this conflict will be a big lesson for the Azerbaijani higher command and will be awakening in terms of changing doctrines, combined arms tactics and SOPs like Al Bab was awakening for the Turkish Armed Forces. For sure Azerbaijan will be out of this conflict much stronger.
