It is said that Baykar Makine is unable to supply engines for Kızılelma from Ukraine. That's why Baykar allegedly wants to buy a Rolce Royce EJ200 turbofan engine from the British.

There may also be a possibility that the supercruise capability is standard.

After an executive from Motor Sich was arrested for being a russian spy - other romours are saying that Baykar has abandoned plans for a factory in Ukraine altogether.

I hope it is true.

Haluk Bayraktar, General Manager of BAYKAR: “KIZILELMA is currently our flagship. We use the engines of a Ukrainian company in the engine field.

We started with a single engine, we will switch to dual engines. We have different systems that are as critical as the platform, such as AESA Radar.

We want to make KIZILELMA a multinational project. As of 2022, 98% of BAYKAR's revenues come from exports. There are also very serious opportunities in the field of space.”

Baykar should activate Blacksea Shield Company to produce engines in Türkiye as they can make engines cheaply.

TF6000 engine should come online ASAP. It does not need to be matured for it to be deployed. Being a little underpowered than how it is intended to be will not make much of a difference it only needs to keep delivering the amount of power it is rated to deliver. In other words it only needs to be reliable. The plane can be adapted to the engine, no problem there.

Fergani Sky aims to develop a kind of reusable Space Tug, which is very new area in aerospace. Space Tugs are kind of spacecraft used to transfer spaceborne cargo from one orbit to another orbit with different energy characteristics.

The other main area of work will be a system of satellites that will operate in low orbit in multiple numbers.

TF-6000 can probably be used for Kızılelma earlier than 2026 as it needs less tests (unmanned)

Our friend made an interview with British Defense Minister Ben Wallace. I also asked Ben Wallace to ask about the Kızılelma EJ200 claim. If he sees it again, he will ask. I am currently waiting for an answer.

It is not only about developments in Ukraine. I am copying the concluding sentence I wrote 4-5 months ago on this topic in another forum: "KIZILELMA with Captor-E radar and EJ-200 engine is loading. It will be an tailored solution for Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers."

On June 2022, the UK has announced that the Mosquito Unmanned Combat Aircraft Project will not go beyond the design phase, so has (in a sense) been terminated.

With the Mosquito, the first unmanned -fighter aircraft- project of the British Air Force, it was aimed to develop a Loyal Wingman that could act jointly with aircrafts such as the F-35, Tempest and Typhoon. The UK had chosen the US company Spirit AeroSystems as the main contractor for the project.

Wallace is probably the only defense minister to have written an article about the success of Baykar's UAV systems. They are keeping a close eye on developments here, and on a corporate level They are now more interested than ever in the opportunities to collaborate with the Turkish defense industry.

This is of course my personal opinion, but if the possibility of EJ200 for KE becomes a reality, I would prefer to evaluate this development not only in terms of the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces, but also in terms of the needs of the UK' Royal Forces.

edit: Ofc, Mosquito is not the only UAV program that the UK defense ministry is struggling with. The Watchkeeper system developed on the Hermes 450 UAV is also dealing with numerous problems. In recent months, images of the rescue of a system that fell into the sea were reflected in the press. Turkish companies/institutions can offer the UK defense ministry collaborations based on combat proven systems and doctrines that will be productized much faster and at a much more manageable costs.

Kizilelma should not be a "multinational product" IMO. TB-2, Anka maybe, but not the more advanced ones. I'd really hate that.

uk is sharing their most strategic sixth gen fighter program with its close allies! And f35 already a multinational program from usa.

I don't understand why you guys think that way, but There is nothing wrong with sharing high tech programs with close allies. In fact, we all know most of the strategic program in europe are joint ventures. And there is immense strategic, geopolitical and security values to it.

Middle powers like turkey need strong allies in era of great power competition. No one can stand along. not even the superpowers ( and it is specially true for middle powers like turkey ) And the best way to do it, ( along with economic integration ) joint strategic multinational defence programs with close allies which inevitably bind the strategic security thinking of allied countries in long term calculation and creates common standards between allied force which make it easier to have a combined response in a moment of crisis. And this is exactly the thinking behind european geopolitical axis and european joint security architecture. And of course there is the benefit of cost sharing!

I mean, at some point in the future there would some massive programs that turkish economy wouldn't be able to handle on its own. Because Turkey may become similar to uk or France in the future, but it wouldn't become usa or China in economic and industrial capacity. So what you gonna do then ?

if turkey wants it's own geopolitical axis and security architecture, that seems to be the most logical choice. ( and i think it was reflected in recent cooperation between TR and kazakhastan )

But personally I am asking the question because turkish delegation and envoy here in dhaka trying to convince BD that, turkey is not like others ( us, europe, china and russia ) in term of security relationship. and unlike others, turkey is very open and welcoming to joint ventures and technology sharing in long terms consideration with brotherly countries.
