Do you know what 'available data' he is referring to? According to the official information brochure of IDAM2022, a bunch of Russian shipbuilding & marine companies are expected to attend the expo anyway. Indonesian Navy chief of staff admiral Yudo Margono admitted back in March, THIS year (it was AFTER Russia invaded Ukraine in February) that Indonesian Navy will continue operating Russian equipment. Therefore, It is reasonable to believe that Russia still hopes to do a business with Indonesia's maritime industry even if Indonesia no longer buys combat aircrafts from Russia.

Way before CAATSA, 08 is already on US blacklist. And look at him now, cozily getting his way to get any access to every western key decision making centres. Hence I don’t believe he’s afraid of CAATSA. He just still unable to convince other stakeholders (ie the president).

08 is definitely still in contact with Kremlin to balance the game. He is man of his word.

When US blacklisted him, Rusky supported him to run an oil & gas business in Kazakhstan.

Well, depends. You have to buy their stuff first. The only possible huge deal from US now only F15.

People are forgetting the fact that the former US Defense Secretary James Mattis asked the US Congress in 2018 to grant a waiver of Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) to three countries – India, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The congress did eventually aprove the waiver for India if you guys could recall. The US doesn't want to antagonize Indonesia because American prefers to co-operate with Indonesia along with ASEAN countries against the Chinese aggression. However, this does not mean the States does not mind being pubicly humiliated by regional powers (eg- Turkey's acquisition of S400). So deciding not to buy SU-35 was a smart decision.

One of reasons that Korean doubt Indonesia's seriousness with the KF-21 project is that the Indonesian govt hasn't much invested in local manufacturing of IF-X. Indonesia is supposed to finish building infrastructure & assembly lines if the country is to produce the fighter jet from Q1 of 2024 (only a 1.5 year from today) along with Korea. At this moment, It seems either Indonesia ends up paying some money into R&D and exits the project at worst or PTDI only assembles a knock-down kit of IF-X imported from Korea at best.

Maybe this is why PTDI needs I-22. It is an insurance option if IF-X is a bust in Indonesia and the company needs a leverage to convince the Indonesian govt to invest money into fighter jet assembly lines.

The assembly line already ordered, research and development center with all new shiny computer and that's including new factory and jig, tools for production line already being set up back then before tit for tat negotiation with South Korea began in 2018 period. From what i know previous admin government (Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono) put tens million US Dollar funding for PT DI to set up the facilities for IFX assembly line.
Are these the assembly line?

Imo MIUS is longer?

By the way Infoglobal may be on the right track eventhough they lack capabilities to design and produce, but hey what are the partners for? There are dozens of countries who will opt for 4+ gen replacement of Hawk 200, M346, L-39. If they show up with a good project management and funding plan and convince PT DI, BPPT-LAPAN and one another foreign partner then it could definitely get a go.

+ It suits very well for an unmanned version similar to MIUS, it is easier to derive an unmanned version from a manned aircraft, than vice-versa.

Double engine trainer like Hongdu L15? Quite similiar in term of size 12m albeit having shorter wing span 9m vs 7 m.
And yes MIUS is longer, with 14+m.

The Korean government reports that there was a meeting between Korean officials and Indonesian officials for the continuded military cooperation. On Indonesian side, Rodon Pedrason, Directorate General of Defense Strategy and Abdul Kadir Jailani, Director General for Asia–Pacific and African Affairs participated. They discussed a various topics, but what's relevant to Defense is that Indonesia has confirmed its commitment to the existing defense collaboration such as KF-21/IF-X project and DSME-1400 submarines.

In the last month, the Indonesian govt informed its Korean counterpart that it will resume paying its financial contribution towards the KF-21/IF-X project. However, Korean news outlets reported that Indonesia told Korea it is only paying US$6M this year and promised a payment of US$33M next year when Indonesia currently owes US$561M to Korea.

Wings, Pylons, Tail also probably external tank fuel and some electronic + mission systems parts. RI08 might have been a great man but still the man is no RI1, not yet. What i would wish to see 2024 Presidential changes and whoever seats in President's office redeem our honour by honouring things we signed years ago yet neglected so badly by current administration. Those things includes our obligation on IFX ( i hope we honour not only R&D funds but also the part where we used to commit for at least 50 IFX/KF-21 and resolution to DSME 1400 contract we signed in 2019, i do also wish there's a deep technical audits on existing 3 Nagapasa Class thus answering TNI-AL troubles )
