PT.PAL & Thales MoU, are we going to revive Kornas ( Korvet Nasional ) / Light Frigate programme ? Frankly we need heavy surface combatant but we equally need those in The Class of Martadinata or Diponegoro Class

You know Thales is not warships designer, they are mainly working for the naval subsystem, especially sensor and radar.

Well with the entry of Turkey Naval designer player lately with their F142 class design, and the issue of Mogami class, the so called light Frigate still revolved around 4000-5000 tonnes class.

Smaller vessels like FAC perhaps ?

Seriously they need to have more though for the Navy support vessels like LST and LPD, as most of them came barred, no sensor, no weaponry, no protection suit, just barred hull with some manually operated gun, basic Naval radar and that's all.

There is also need to integrated all of the system they has, from Thales Tacticos, Terma C Flex and now Advent Genesys from Havelsan.

😔😔

We also have Catiz CMS from Navantia on KRI Malahayati. Frankly i don't want Havelsan CMS on AH-140, i want them to stay as original specs for Royal Navy, use Thales TACTICOS as we already accustomed to it on Martadinata Class and Diponegoro Class but that's just so wishfull hope

Why do you never have another option:

- An indigenous CMS.

Advent can be integrated with others without requiring any modification on the others, however i don't know if others can do that.

Yes i know, and then why don't you suggest commonization of that one but TACTICOS?

Some old stories circulated, this is just something Thales made then PT.LEN rebranded it, use it on Van Speijk Class for test bed

Heard the same story', Mandala is not rightly indigenous design.

Canggih! Korvet Diponegoro Class Bakal Dipasangi Radar Thales NS50 dengan Teknologi 4D AESA

So they are capable to directing and guiding SAM system, in which beg to question, this radar is being designed to guide fire and forget short range SAM like VL MICA and ship artillery, so is the TNI AL intended to put VLS into SIGMA 9113 class?

Been reading this, this posting claims our Nagapasa Class are false in design and despite maximum efforts, there will be defects left. What's wrong with our Nagapasa Class ? Can any of you enlighten me ? And while back ago during 2005 - 2007 there was a planning on acquiring 2 Type-209 Class ( i might presume we were planning the original version from Germany ) then how come we ended up with this unlicensed version from South Korea ? And what are we going to do to at least minimise the defects and get them maximised on operational use ( despite some defects which said will remain ) ?

providing highly accurate 4D target information required for rapid acquisition by Fire Control Systems, for fire control of short-range “fire and forget” Surface-to-Air-Missile Systems
I think its only capable of providing data feed to Fire Control System pre-missile launch, and can't provide continuous guidance post missile launch.

It is lesslikely to develop a CMS overnight, so yeah. They likely repackaged the consoled with a complied and ready to use CMS and tried to integrate different sensors etc. That may not be Tacticos but the older version with less capabilities, as well. But i read some news that 8 vessels are now getting Mandhala.

And my point is; why not launching a new whole program for a truly indigeneous CMS that you can independently upgrade. Get either Thales, Navantia or whomever agreeing to develop a new CMS for Indonesian Navy's need from scratch by sharing the source code and then move onto phase II for a real indigeneous solution. It is an operating system, bunch of libraries and few lines of code at the end

" Thales has been the leading partner of the Indonesian Navy for the last forty years, supplying combat systems for all warships in service. The strategic agreement will explore the co-development of a national Combat Management System (CMS) based on Thales’ TACTICOS CMS "

That's why i don't like adding new species like Havelsan CMS into our service in the first argument, we have 2 Martadinata Class, 4 Diponegoro Class and in process Bung Tomo Class using TACTICOS which i hope we're getting standarise with and hopefully co-develop it into something indigeneous for our future ships, we don't adding new species into our inventory but alas i'm not policy maker.
