That’s WH in totalIts warhead is bigger than warhead of mk 81 bomb which has a 45 kg filling weight!
So it's time to begin covering against submarines and missilesThe disclosed range of land launched Atmaca is 280km.
That means 280 km from our shores no surface vessels can be safe.
Not bad to control “Mavi Vatan” 24/7!
That also means Aegean is fully under Turkish control.

The Barbaros system is nice. “It will develop further,” said Mr. İkinci. But the system has one shortcoming. It's a supersonic anti-ship missile. We are expecting supersonic anti-ship missiles from Roketsan next to Atmaca and Çakır.Not at same time its says 4 Atmaca or 6 Cakir in article.
Turkish doctrine is a NATO doctrine, till this day it doesnt have any supersonic cruise missiles. The Barbaros system is nice. “It will develop further,” said Mr. İkinci. Subsonic you mean. The Barbaros system is nice. “It will develop further,” said Mr. İkinci. But the system has one shortcoming. It's a supersonic anti-ship missile. We are expecting supersonic anti-ship missiles from Roketsan next to Atmaca and Çakır.
If you get faster, you get less maneuverable and you can't fly very low, less responsive, more louder, more detectable, more expensive, smaller warhead, then what is the point of having a "cruise" missile, especially for land targets, supersonic is useless. Cruise missile should be a highly maneuverable, silent and unexpected killer IMO. Besides, Western / NATO weapons proven to be more advanced and successful, Russian weapons are just overhyped junk, their cruise missiles as well, we are witnessing this again. On the other hand a true (working) hypersonic anti-ship missile is a very strategic weapon, I think Turkey and NATO will go after hypersonic weapons soon.Turkish doctrine is a NATO doctrine, till this day it doesnt have any supersonic cruise missiles.
Ok, let's take for example to prominent Russian and Nato missiles! If you get faster, you get less maneuverable and you can't fly very low, less responsive, more louder, more detectable, more expensive, smaller warhead, then what is the point of having a "cruise" missile, especially for land targets, supersonic is useless. Brahmos is not attacking with that speed. It only takes less time to reach to the target. But at the end it attacks with subsonic speed due to technical capabilitiesOk, let's take for example to prominent russian and nato missiles!
Brahmos and harpoon, both can pull up to 12g.
Harpoon Can cruise as low as 3 meter while on the other hand brahmos can supercruise as low as 5 meter.
Meaning, you will get less reaction time with brahmos after it arrives over the horizon.
More expensive? Yes. Less responsive? I don't think so.
Smaller warhead? Well, they can easily overcome that with their kinetic impact energy.
There are advantages of supersonic cruise missiles.
And That's is why japan, south korea, Turkey and uk-France trying to have the combination of both subsonic and supersonic AShMs in their arsenal with the recent investment in ramjet propulsion technology.
yes, when doing see skimming its suffer around 30/35 percent speed loss from Mach 3 plus. but it can still super cruise around Mach 2 during terminal phase.Brahmos is not attacking with that speed. This is not correctBut at the end it attacks with subsonic speed due to technical capabilities
@Afif is 100% correct.Brahmos is not attacking with that speed. It only takes less time to reach to the target. But at the end it attacks with subsonic speed due to technical capabilities
Isn't it supposed to explode in the ship's hull? Is that a wanted result?@Afif is 100% correct.
Brahmos attacks at 2+ mach terminal speed. There was a clip where it actually goes in from the bow of a frigate size ship and comes out of it’s aft section. It carries so much kinetic energy that it can do that.
All anti ship missiles are designed so that, to start with they have to penetrate a ships hull before they explode. After penetration, the explosive is detonated. But with a missile like Brahmos, the speed at which it hits the hull and the weight of the large missile, there is so much kinetic energy it carries that the explosion and the body mass of the missile is pushed right through the hull. Remember this is a 3000kg missile. Even after exhausting it’s fuel there is still a sizeable mass that it has left. Our Atmaca is a 750kg missile travelling at 0.85Mach, and we have seen how much damage it can do to a hull.Isn't it supposed to explode in the ship's hull? Is that a wanted result?

Ngl that sounds impressive. That is correct, BRAHMOS has to slow down because it has limited sensor capabilities. The shroud around the inlet also limits seeker's turning radius.
Indian's claim new seeker can keep up with the speed of the missile, i doubt this is true.

Actually it works in two modes."Imaging X-band SAR seeker with Monopulse homing"
They just threw every radar-related word they knew into a sentence.
