I watched the interview. The first delivery target is still 2028. That means the prototypes will fly for 5 years before commissioning. They will test the aircraft through and through before delivering it to the customer.The engine development has to keep pace with MMU development. Otherwise, the issue still remains to be the biggest obstacle of the program.
If the revision of first flight date will push the date of the first delivery forward is still unknown. We're not even clear of PDR(not confirmed) yet, but we're trying to fly the plane by the end of the year. Desperate times will call for desperate measures. The risk has grown. I hope it will pay off by encountering the problems early on and have more time to resolve them.
Regardless of the ruling party, the US will deny us the engines once the program enters the serial production phase. I'm sure of this. We have to put an engine on the bench as soon as possible and wear it out.
