Congratulations @SavunmaSanayiST.comSavunmaSanayiST: Within the scope of the Presidency's Second 100-Day Action Plan, it was decided to procure 415 additional SOM Cruise Missiles. At what stage are we in regard to the serial production of the SOM Cruise Missile? Is there a problem especially in the supply of the TR-40 engine?
Prof. Dr. İsmail DEMİR: Mass productions continue, there is currently no official attitude regarding the procurement of the TR-40. We already have an engine that will continue production for a certain period of time. There are also alternative engine studies and supplies. Some minor design changes to the alternative engine may eventually be required. This has already been studied by my friends. In this respect, there is no problem in the short term, I can say that we have taken measures to solve it in the long term.

Seems like KALE Group having hard time pulling it off while we too are having hard time waiting for ages. Hope it will come off as expected and wont fall through. I have been critisicing the officials for long time for not involving TEI in this work.
We have a good inventory of SOM I think. The deal about the engines gave fruit and I don't think mass producing SOM with domestic engine is an urgent matter at this time but for middle to long term development and integration of national engine is a must. Further studies are also required in these matters as who knows... maybe our engineers will come up with even better solution but they need time.SavunmaSanayiST: Within the scope of the Presidency's Second 100-Day Action Plan, it was decided to procure 415 additional SOM Cruise Missiles. If there were problems with the TR40 delivery we would not have as many firing tests of the SOM and ATMACA missiles.
Well, we've been saying that for a while, so question is do we still have that many engines from France ?We already have several hunderd France Engine so ther will be no problem. Thats why ther will be 400 SOM missile delivered to Tuaf.

Void detection fuse?
As part of our Miniature Bomb Project, the reinforced concrete target was hit with high precision in the final test shot with a piercing-effective live warhead. The live warhead exploded after piercing the concrete and the test shot was successful.
Two questions savunmasanayist forgot to ask Mr Demir were ;
1. When the sea targets version of SOM and of course the Som-j will be ready for delivery?
2. What has happened with Bora2 ?
Yes. We know this. But when will they be ready? Have you any idea?SOM C1 and C2 will be able to hit moving sea targets.
SOM-J is in development. If there would be a naval launched variant of SOM it would be based on SOM-J.
Ballistic missiles developments are usually announced way later but we very likely have at least have a 500-600+ km ballistic missile at this point.
Why should everything be spilled in internet and media, why do you expect it?Yes. We know this. But when will they be ready? Have you any idea?
Som-j should have been ready a long time ago. OK, because of f35 not being available, the urgency is no longer there. But why is it taking so long for SOM C1 and C2? Are they improving them further?
SOM B is ~660kg. The range given for this air launched missile is very conservative. Although it is ~800kg in weight , Atmaca is surface launched and has to overcome gravity as it is launched and reach it’s cruising speed; all of which consumes a lot of fuel. But still Atmaca is expected to reach ~+220km targets with maximum range of~360km.
so how come SOM range is +250km? Especially when it is launched from a platform at 30000+ft altitude travelling at around 0.9 Mach. Then it glides like a HGK. But only manages 250km!!!
