As platforms evolve into higher capacity boats, I expect to see these hybrid, missile + 35mm turrets on USVs. For example, 4/6 KUZGUN, multi-role 35/40mm cannon and integrated PMADS can create an extraordinarily large asymmetric threat against small displacement boats such as adversary patrol/ missile boats; and any military-grade helicopters/logistic operation between islands.

-Will you develop gun based CIWS or missile based CIWS?
-Aselsan : Yes

And it is beautiful.
We need to put this on every ship we have, not because they might need it, but because it is gorgeous.

I wonder what those two designs will look like once we see them as prototypes, Pantsir hasn't covered itself in glory at all, so I'm curious how Aselsan improved on the concept.

Better radars (high resolution x-band that detect drones on time), better missiles (better missile guidance that is).

The Russians did upgrade the pantsir after the TB-2 debacle but they seem not to be able to produce them in numbers to make a change in Ukraine

It seems from the size of launchers that the missile system is not Hisar but land version of Goktug family

Yes, G40 is now in contract phase. There also will be a NASAMS like system.

There are 3 Naval point defence systems published by Aselsan;

First; that uses Bozdogan (likely to get a new name) 12 missiles, with 4 AESA (AURA MkII or a new nametag) to scan&track. For fast attack boats that may not fit Hisar-D.

Second; that uses Akdogan missile, higher in count. For corvettes and frigates that do not require autonomous PDMS as they might have 2 + tracking and a stronger search radar. Nonetheless, a long range PDMS is not required as Hisar-D is present, thus a shorter than Bozdogan range Akdogan is used.

Third; Goker-D 35mm + Sungur-N for patrol boats and small vessels (optionally with 4 x AURA radar (ER version) for standalone configuration) . It is made to be installed on 35mm RCWS spots.

Do you have any idea why wheeled point defense system has a Fire Control Radar and Naval CIWS don't.

While Both have 4 fixed AESA panel why the naval one doesn't have?

AFAIK FCR is needed for the 35mm cannon due to calculate distance for smart ammunition. However fixed AESA plates can determine everything around CIWS . So why wheeled CIWS has a FCR?

Most probably ,fire control radar will guide RF guided missiles ,whereas other ones will use iir guided missiles. And 35 mm can use aesa panels only

I don't think so. If wheeled CIWS has RF guided SAMs,it will be crazy. I think the wheeled one is not original image from ASELSAN.

Maybe AESA radar doesn't have enough angular or distance resolution.

But the naval one doesn't have any FCR! If the AESA plates weren't enough to calculate distance, the naval one should also have FCR.

Edit:

Skyranger also doesn't have additional FCR. Just 5 AESA plates.

Interview with ISMAIL DEMIR from TRT
Thank you to my brother KEREM from Twitter.
I have compiled both Turkish and English for you, all together.

İsmail Demir, President of Defense Industry:

#ALTAY MBT

🔷We have a project to put some components on it while using the Korean power pack.
We did the tests. We ran the tests of the power pack. We are waiting for the user to do the tests.

🔷We have added a number of more technologies to the Altay tank. Let them go through the testing process too.
We will give 2 tanks to the Turkish Armed Forces and provide tests with them.

🔷You have to do the test in every regime. You have to test for hours. For our first 100 tanks
While using the Korean power pack, we will put other tanks into service with the domestic power pack.

#SIPER

🔷We continue the tests of the trench. Trench is not a single product. We graded the trench. We're going as Block 0 -1.

🔷Equipped with capabilities to prevent air threats. We have a goal to be very long range of the original mature Trench.

🔷We are very close to the block 1s entering the inventory. Stay tuned.

🔷We have very ambitious goals and dates that we have given inside. We are close to Patriot.

#TB3 #TCG ANADOLU

🔷 Certain trainings of TCG Anadolu continue. Trainings in the navy are about to be completed and definite use will begin. He's very soon.

🔷TB 3 will be counting months, not days, this year.
Features created differences from TB2. The ship has elements on which it will land and take off. There are cases such as changes in the inside team, such as wing breaks.

🔷TB3 will hopefully finish its tests this year and enter the inventory this year.

#ANKA III - #TISU

🔷Our surprise project. It will be a jet powered Aircraft.

🔷You will see that it comes out with a brand new wing form there. Radar invisibility will be featured.

🔷It will fly as soon as Hürjet. Flight is close.

#KIZILELMA

🔷We made its flight, it continues its various flights.

🔷When it comes to the stage of giving the inventory, various parameters will be given as tried and tested.

🔷It will continue to improve with users' feedback after it is placed in the inventory.

#HÜRJET

🔷We will hold a ceremony in Hürjet. When we announce the date of the ceremony, the date is valid, it will be soon.

🔷Hürjet has reached a certain maturity. Hürjet has passed certain stages. Hürjet can fly safely on the day it is signed. It will fly in this month, next month, 1 month.

🔷It will be better than the F-35

🔷#MMU is a 5th generation fighter jet. There are only 4 countries in the world doing this project. We are also the 5th.
Our plane is in flesh and blood, with all its systems installed. It has become available for testing
After receiving it, we will ensure that it goes to the 5th generation and beyond. It will be a flying computer.

🔷There will be other prototypes. MMU is the name of the project, there will be a name. There are certain processes in naming. Staff contributors
We collect their names. Our President will announce his name at the ceremony.

🔷We have a number of new projects. Developments have inventory and mass production.

🔷Our Air-Air missiles will be in the inventory soon.

🔷Our hypersonic missiles are in action.

🔷Our land-to-land rockets are in action.
🔷Our various cruise missiles are in operation.

🔷Our various engine projects continue.

🔷We will be supplying domestic engines to land vehicles and armored vehicles.

🔷We should not forget about electronic warfare.

🔷We are working to bring new capabilities and usage areas to UAVs, whether it is positioning or communication.
