I am worried about a war with Greece since they openly said they are going to increase their territorial water to 12 miles if Erdogan loses the elections. They are against Turkiye using even the word Aegean in tourism ads. And at this point yanks are clearly 100% against us militarily and their intensions are completely hostile not to mention they stole billions from us with F-35 contract THEY violated. So talking about contract fine points with these people when a war with them is months away is insane to me.

Turkey probably wouldn't go to war with Greece even if Greece increase their territorial waters to 12 miles instead Turkey should just state that it doesn't recognise Greece's claims and move on.

if Turkey is to go to war with Greece it should do so in 10 to 15 years later as Greece's population is about to collapse, here check this out.

Some believed that by the year 2100 Greece's popularity will decline to around 6 million. personally believe it will probably be less than that as an elderly population will drive more Greek youth to flee the country.

the more time passes the weaker Greece gets and the stronger Turkey becomes in comparison not the other way round.

As for the US the best thing for Turkey is to wait the US out as the emergence of new great power competition to the US being forced to adopt a more rational foreign policy than the one it currently has especially when India becomes more of a player in the global stage and China starts to grow it's influenced in the middle east.

War is pre-declared in 90s in Turkish senate as in "casus belli". Even suggesting that Türkiye may not go to war over being blocked in Aegean is against all Turkish interests. Months later Greece will unite with Cyprus (ENOSIS) as current EOKA terror group supporting Cyprus president suggested and block us in Mediterranean too. If our resolve wavers a tiny bit on 12 miles or Mavivatan. We were at war with US twice once in Libya and once when their warships were bombing cities like Samsun along with Greek warships. It seems to me since they are training Cyprus for the coming war and invasion of north Cyprus and already surrounded us in Iraq, Syria, Cyprus, Greece and donated billions to Greece and PKK. It is inevitable at this point. Only a Turkish thermonuclear test can give them pause IMHO.

No matter how much greece population has , greece is just puppet of US and other just a chess piece for US so even if has 100k population his land is USA land military base . Just like many other coutries . But thanks god the USA domination is declined day by day and will fall , the new world order will come .
Aslo if grece has problems will low population , Turkiye has problems with Separatism , financed and supported by West 'friends' Even when i play sometimes pubg , There are so many kurd sapararist that choose all kind of african or asiatic flag that accroding to them have similarity with their flag but dont choose Turkish flag . i mean some of them because there are aslo Turkish kurd brothers that love Turkiye live and work as normal citenzens

TR should negotiate with GR in never-ending negotiations until the Turkish Armed forces become a behemoth neither the EU nor the USA is willing to bother. TR should not plan a war but plan the systematic destruction of GRs military manpower (GR is low on manpower and can't sustain military units if GR loses a few hundred thousand) and infrastructure (energy, industry, refineries, ports, airports, power plants, etc). TR should refrain from harming civilians as much as possible as they will be the ones that will hang their governments for their stupid decisions.

Oh, BTW we should increase our defense spending to %2 of our GDP and start an arms race.

Agreed, the scenario you proposed is the optimal outcome tbh

When Greece recently announced their intent to perform shared gas explorations in the east Med, I immediateky knew it was a trap. If Turkey refused, Greece will portray Turkey as the aggressor and if Turkey accepted, then Greece somehow legally ensured that it has claims one way or another in the east Med

The ideal scenario is to enter in never-ending negotiations until Turkey become strong enough that no other nation would want to confront it just like with China and ofcourse...... Turkey should get nukes

Greece has so far planned its plans to launch a repressive first strike. They built the whole game on the fact that on the 4th day of the conflict, France and the United States will load ammunition on cargo planes and come to his aid.But this plan is slowly falling apart. The European Union, which has been badly affected economically by the pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, will not want to fund the East-Med project. In case of a possible war, the ammunition stocks that the Americans and Europeans can send to Greece are running out thanks to the aid to Ukraine. And if there comes an opposition that can embrace the Blue Homeland doctrine and maintain good diplomatic relations with the West ,all imperialist ambitions of Greece will collapse

I apologize, but I would like to make a small addition. It is actually a Greek propaganda that the Turkish parliament has passed a casus belli resolution. Unfortunately we fall into this trap very often.

The Turkish Parliament's declaration of June 8, 1995 was adopted in response to the Greek Parliament's decision to authorize the Greek government to unilaterally increase its territorial waters to 12 miles. Greek governments were authorized by parliament to take this step. The Greek side is consciously trying to forgeted its own decision, by defining TR's bill with the concept of "casus belli", which is prohibited by the UN system. The Turkish parliament has authorized the armed forces to take all measures in the event of a Greek attempt to invade Turkish territorial waters. This is a right under international law and is in line with UN principles.

If you look at the Foreign Ministry's sites relevant pages that explanation of the official state thesis, it is clear that the Turkish state vehemently rejects this argument and that the parliamentary decision is aimed at preventing Greek aggression and expansionism.

There is also the belief that Türkiye would go to war as soon as Greece extends their territorial waters to12 miles.
I think that Türkiye will try diplomatucally first then if no avail, preserve the right to a military or a retaliatory response.

That's what the declaration says though.

"The Turkish Grand National Assembly, while hoping that the Greek Government will not decide to extend its territorial waters in the Aegean beyond 6 miles in a manner that would upset the balance established by the treaty of Lausanne, resolves that in the event of such a possibility, the Government of the Republic of Turkey shall be vested with all powers, including those deemed militarily necessary, in order to protect and defend the vital interests of our country, and that this situation be announced to the Greek and world public with friendly feelings"

It's not just extending to 12 miles but extending to anything beyond 6. What would happen is probably the same thing that happens in the air. Right after Greeks make such an announcement, a Turkish ship goes inside the 12 miles and makes a leisurely journey in those waters while the military is mobilized on the shore. If that ship is attacked, it's war. If not, they run into the same problem they have in the air of announcing an expansion but being unable to enforce it with multitudes of ships using waters that are supposedly theirs.

Losing the Aegan Islands is a tragedy.

Now we see long term consequences of not having a proper navy.
