Is this why its expensive, the ToT?
dunno why its more expensive than India Scorpene, but on par with Brazil Scorpene costsIs this why its expensive, the ToT?
hopefully PTPAL will be the Scorpene hub in SEA like what they did in Brazil. Recently they offered made in Brazil Scorpene for Argentine navy. For long term solution, I prefer NG...expensive yes, but we get to build it here fully, it would help much if we plan to have a long term national submarine development plan. Esp in the light of the expansion plan. Having master the construction of the hull, we could be creative with our own demand. Look at the Makassar class or the Sigma influence on everything we're building right now.
After the two Scorpene, hopefully there's a repeat order for another 2 to 4 and then proceed to build an improved variant...and final is a 100% locally designed submarine.
not FC2G ?Saab kockum stirling
wow AIPnya dari sono....Saab kockum stirling
wait, so they offered the proven solution instead of their brand new FC2G?Saab kockum stirling
not FC2G ?
Stirling AIP is a Dinosaur this day
when its ready, will it be replaced by the Li-Ion or the new battery will be used only for the next batch of scorpene? But very mature technology
No need to worry about glitch and defect commonly found in newly developed technology
But isn't it kind of "loud" ?But very mature technology
No need to worry about glitch and defect commonly found in newly developed technology
And they already on their way to abandon itnot FC2G ?

don,t get wrong, even japs using stirling technology, proven AIP technology
And they already on their way to abandon it
Govt keep saying bla bla... to export locally made submarine bla bla..., maybe such expensive deal for only 2 scorpene will allow us to even export it later? Assuming that it is really $2 billion for only 2 scorpene. For long term solution, I prefer NG...expensive yes, but we get to build it here fully, it would help much if we plan to have a long term national submarine development plan. Just like our LPD deal with SK we can modify it, build it as we wish and export it.
