Ok after watching the interview, the one thing he said that was news to me was, that Hürjet will be eventually turned into an unmanned version too.
I dont like it , Turkiye have many unmaned drones , hurjet should be turned in advanced CAS just like S korea Fa 50 .

Integrated Product Manager of HÜRJET Propulsion Systems Şahika Saç

-One of the most important tests of HURJET is the first power-up test. In these tests, we test the correct operation of the electrical systems. There are engine start tests that follow. It was also a very important stage for our team. We did the engine integration and the first engine start test with this work.
The process of working in harmony with all sub-systems continued. Before the first flight, you need to make sure that all systems are working correctly, are fully integrated with each other, and that you do not see any errors in any of the systems. Because you carry the labor of many people and you carry a life in the plane. The plane was created with a lot of hard work and great devotion. We performed the flight very early on the first flight day, but we performed our test without getting too excited, as if we were doing a normal test. Thank God it was a beautiful flight and a beautiful landing.

-As of today, we have performed our 5th flight, HÜRJET has been in the air for more than 1 hour. We actually performed a faultless first flight. In our ongoing ground and flight tests, we continue our flight tests on the days and times deemed appropriate to improve the aircraft and test our other systems.

-As engineers, we work hard both in the office and in the hangar. When we ask, we have technician brothers who work their 40th and 50th hours at the plane. We, as engineers, also ensure that the test is finished or the system is done safely, without going to sleep, before going home, until we finish the job when necessary. We continue to work at the beginning of the plane until we are sure that he is doing it.
In general, there may be situations in companies such as forcing the employees to work overtime, but there is such a team here that everyone gets inspiration from each other. Not everyone really looks at the clock in an effort to get the job done.
He doesn't know the day. What day were we, what time were we, what working hour were we in? From time to time, we work without counting, we get tired, we sleep on chairs and tables, we sleep on cushions from time to time. All of this for a purpose, for our country, our children and our defense industry. Emotions are hard to hold, we get emotional while talking. The result is there. It is really nice to be able to get the results of your effort and sacrifices when it bears fruit.

TUSAŞ General Manager Temel Kotil: [For HÜRJET] "We will attach the ASELSAN radar that can see 100-200 km to it. (probably means AESA). Its nose is made according to it, so it will be the same as the F-16 radar. We will place our missiles on it."
Although it does not overlap one by one exactly, I think there will be a main backbone as follows

F-22, F-35 - MMU KAAN programme
Gripen NG like 4++ light combat jet - Hurjet Naval

??? - KIZILELMA
MQ-25, MQ-20 etc.- ANKA-3 A/B/C

MQ-4, RQ-4 etc - ANKA-II(?), AKINCI(?)
Reaper / Predator - TB-2, ANKA-I , ANKA-AKSUNGUR, AKINCI
GA Mojave - TB-3

I assume the fighter version will be single seated.
I think both a navalised combat jet will come through the Hurjet programme and the KAAN programme will be forked with a navalised variant in the future. Two days ago RTE said something interesting. He mentioned that the aircraft carrier work is progressing and that this programme will be launched immediately after the elections. My impression is that the conceptual work on this issue has reached a certain point and the planning could be really matured. We have been discussing these issues in the forums for a long time and we have heard statements from many officials, but the statement like immediately after the elections, next months, at this point, I have the opinion that these preliminary project activities, which have started to mature regardless of the election result, can proceed with whoever takes the goverment.

Mr Kotil: "Hüjet's opponent will be Gripen"
If this is what he wants they really need to increase its payload. Right now, Gripen has more than twice the payload Hürjet has, not to mention it is also faster. I guess a lot will depend on national engine programs and whether Hürjet can get a stronger engine or not.

I remember arguing with an Indian guy on this forum where he constantly criticed Turkish made air force projects stating Hurjet's first flight will be 5 to 10 years late. Never underestimate and assume because when youre proven wrong you will look like a fool.

The bigger question here is will we see a engine positioned between the TF10000 and TF35000 for a fighter version of Hürjet. A Turkish equalivent of the F404 or better yet F414 will be necessary to fully realize the project. I do not foresee the US granting the sale of F404 or F414 engines which will be used in a armed version. Trainer yes, fighter no.

Once we have a Tf35000 on the bench or on KAAN, we won't be facing any engine embargoes, imo.

Hurjet, Kizilelma & Akinci all being equipped with MURAD. It's going to be one hell of a airspace picture that command is going to be able to see.
