Since it takes a long time maybe it's not wrong to look ahead. Now we don't need a carrier and it seems like a waste of resources but in the 2030's we will have a bigger Air force, economy and a population which will go into the direction of 100 million people.

I think Turkey will be an important player in Asia and Europe if we don't start procurement now, maybe we will wish we did so in 10 years
Normally Turkiye would never reach 100 million inhabitants, studies show this. But because of the ignorant bigots from Syria and Afghanistan, it may pass now.

These are all for reputation, the president of Turkiye attaches great importance to reputation. That is why we are building an aircraft carrier.

I prefer 10 TF2000 and submarines instead of YNUG

@Anmdt Do you think Navy will go a similar route in the future to satisfy its LRMPA requirements? Seeing how aircrafts like the P-8 are unprocurable for us and I believe we had signed on onto a NATO project to develop a MPA based on the A320 but with how things are and that project having been radio silent since the signatures were written as well as Germany procuring P-8s and France seemingly goings it own way this seem like the only option.

Unless they thing they can satisfy their needs with drones which for me seems the wrong option.

I'm very much interested in how Sea Sultan will fare in Pakistani service. It's an interesting design with lots of room to grow.

I also think so, yes A320 is the only viable option considering TurAF is also opting ( at least rumored / alleged ) for Airbus tanker. But we would wait for sensors to mature along with unmanned systems to see how that will unfold in future.

Ibrahim Sünnetci on Twitter:

"According to the information I have received, MIDLAS has been installed on the TCG Istanbul Frigate. The TCG Istanbul is currently in the process of completing the Harbor Acceptance Tests (HAT), after which the Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT) will begin. On May 29, 2023, the TCG Istanbul Frigate is expected to be delivered to the Turkish Naval Forces Command (TNFC) on May 29, 2023, after which the sea tests will be completed and the TCG Istanbul will be delivered to the TNFC towards the end of the year."

Two steel-producing companies, Kardemir and Erdemir located in TR has successfully developed high yield steel recipes, unrelated to each other, and produced the samples for evaluations. The production quality and samples have succeeded in presumed ranges, consistency of quality is superb in comparison to what imported earlier, for HY80 and HY100 steels. HY80 is matured and ready for production following the certification process, HY100 is yet to mature and go through certification and they both are studying the recipe for HY120-grade that will be applied on special spots of some submarines.

The companies have also commenced (earlier supplied for national projects only) to supply DH grade shipbuilding steels for naval and naval-related applications in TR and several abroad applications amid the supply crisis emerged due to Ukraine-Russia war. The steel is slightly more expensive yet provides a higher quality (in terms of consistency of the product).

Another company that better to keep unnamed as of now is focusing on production of large single piece support members that is responsible of carrying pressure loads: ring stiffeners. The production, compared to profiles used in warships has much tighter tolerances and requires special rigs that will be produced with local resources.

Gölcük Naval Shipyard is upgrading the facility and construction rings that is utilized for pressure hull sections, the primary goal is to enlarge diameter allowed within the rigs, and later making them flexible that will be adjustable according to the diameter of the pressure hull. This implies, Milden as of now, is not the only submarine within Navy's plan, there is another one likely to fill the gap of Type 1200-1400 in medium term. Milden is an upgrade to the fleet, not replacement of an aging class.

Dear Anmdt, bearing in mind our future production ability of STM 500, Milden and another sub in the class of Reis or Type 1 400, what is your projection for future sub inventory of Turkish Navy? How many submarines?

I have cheap and easy air defence frigate solution for hard times.

Our 4 of 8 Gabya's is in more good condition than others. They have a good smart-s mk2 radar and 8x vls and genesis battle managment system. Also its open sea resisted and good sized ships.

Also all of us know that solution of aselsans this solution.

F-491-TCG-Giresun-02.jpg

I advice change a mk-13 launcher with 2x6 pack siper launcher. And add akr-d block 2 behalf of mark-92 location for missile guidance. And last one we can add çakır-Rf behalf of Mark-13 Harpoons in the location of who I'm sited on pic. Çakır more smalller missile but more ranged missile than our Harpoon's . (We dont have blok 3's on this ships) Only diffrence is warhead size but on air defence concantrated ships thats doesnt problem from my site.

Search and Track Radar : Smart-s Mk2 Radar (They have long range search mode 250 km and track mode 150 km )
Fire Control Radar : Akr-d block-2
BMS : Genesis
Weapon Load :

1x 76mm
12x Siper
32x Essm
8x Çakır-Rf Anti-Ship
6x Torpedo
1x Phalanx

Doesnt need to big modernization for that. And also when ship decommisioned we can take and use him on diffrent ships.

And dont forget Even Frenchs use a Freem's in Air Defence role and they carry 32x Aster-15&30 And launch him with Herakles radar ( Fire Control radar capable version of Smart-s Mk2)

advice change a mk-13 launcher
Vise versa i would recommend not to touch mk13 since you could store inside 40 TRG-300. Old Perryies would be great strike force. For sure i would add autonomous modern Point defense systems such as Gökdeniz/ER/Levent.

Istif class makes me excited more than any other projects. I don't know but it is. I hope she will be floating in a shortest time and we'll see her in our Blue Homeland.

I+ Class with some lengthening and extra VLS cells. This could be reasonable considering it can have some room for secondary capabilities like SİPER Block 1/2, GEZGİN or other stuff to be integrated to MİDLAS.

What I most wonder is the Ada+ class, in your parlance.
How are we going to shove 12 VLS cells into that hull, I have no clue.
I know some export MILGEM's handled that, but do we know how?
