If it's second hand Luftwaffe tranche 1, how many we would get?

I'm not sure. It also depends whether we want to upgrade them or not.

BAE Systems said this recently to UK Parliament, “It is technically feasible to bring a Tranche 1 aircraft to the standard of a Tranche 2 or Tranche 3 aircraft. BAE Systems has previously provided data to the Ministry of Defence (MoD) that outlines the scope of structural and avionic modifications that would be required."

RAF still have 30 EF Tranche 1 and so far they only use about 42% of airframe lifetime of those jets.

They can't fire Meteor, but they do AIM-120D.

This would be better option to spend that $1 bil than just several brand new EFs (although I won't be complaining for any of them).

Maybe with Boeing hungry for order now, US will offer Eagle cheaper.

I think F15IDN will be fine without CFT for now.
I'm all with the F-15EDN without CFT. Imagine the TWR of these birds with 2x F110 GE-129 but without the added weight of the CFT ?

But advance avionics and censor such as APG82, EPAWSS, ADCP 2, Sniper pod, IRST, etc still a must!
