@Flextape Which Armour regiment is with 11th infantry division?
Also, is it part of 93rd armoured brigade or independent?
1st cav. (Under 93rd)

Also, if any regiment directly reports to a division, it does not become independent. a regiment has to report to a Command/AHQ to become indp

You are right, I actually meant not being under brigade like other armored regiments in other division.

Do you know why we have only 1 armored brigade?
Is there any chance to raise more in the future?

if we actually see our army forming commands, then 11inf div might turn into an armoured div. only then me might see anther armd bde popping up

@Flextape I was wondering, does army have dedicated reconnaissance units in its formations? Like reconnaissance platoon, company or squadrons in many other countries land forces? (Both mounted/mechanized and dismounted/on foot units)

@Flextape I wanted to know more about FO in our Artillery.
I know that traditionally FOs uses manual map grid coordinates to direct fires.
But do our FOs have laser range finders and GPS devices to make fire more accurate?
Or do they still uses only a MAP and a Binocular?

I am asking because now that army is officially inducting new gen Turkish BORAN 105m howitzers equipped with computerised digital fire control system, will some of our forward observers get any advanced targeting systems like these-

Well its a very broad question to answer in one thread but it depends really. The more advance Guns you got, the more technologically advance FO eqpt you will get

Another thing i am trying to figure out how many mech battalion army has.
considering the reliable info on the numbers of APC, i concluded we have around 15 mech battalions. is that accurate?
(army bought 78 BTR-80 in 2001, 60x in 2006 and then 80x more in 2011. Later in 2014 we hade the big deal for 330 more. And then army bought 102x Cobra ii and 50x MaXXpro from 2018-2020. In total 700 APC, thus 15 mech battalions)

All Div Sp Regts (10) are considered to be Mech. (All with BTR)
71st Mech Bde has an additional of 3
81st inf bde has 2 (Cobra-1)
93rd Armd Bde has 1 (BTR)
Rest of the divisions has roughly 1 to 3 each (Mostly BTRs)

Most of the cobra 2s and Maxapros are deployed in UNPKO

Didn't quite get it. Could you elaborate it little further?
93rd Armd Bde has 1 (BTR)

Iirc, previously you said 93rd armd bde consist of 2 Mech battalion and 1 armoured regiment?
Or do mean now that, one of the Mech battalions in 93rd armed bde is BTR?

Every Division has its own Div Support Battalion (Inf and has Atgm And RR Pl).
These Bn Are Fully Mechanised with BTR80s

Must have been my mistake, but I could only confirm 1 Mech Inf Bn (Cus I saw a bus of that unit in Dhaka xD)
But Possibilities of 93 having 2 mech cannot be ruled out. I will confirm you about this matter in a few days as I myself is confused too

Then there must be more than 15 Mech battalions in total.
Thanks for clarification.
However, now I am wondering if ATGMs are only exclusive to support battalions or they are also distributed among regular infantry battalions?

Just one more clarification though.
Do you mean, other than support battalions each division also has at least 1 more Mech battalion?

My conclusion from reliable open sources is that, around 630 BTR are in the inventory.
That accounts for roughly 15 Mech battalions.
Now, if each divison has at least 1 sp Mech Bn and 1 regular Mech Bn then it is already 20.
However, 9th division has 5 additional. (Including the one with 98th composite brigade)
Thus, in total at least 25 Mech battalion can be confirmed.

That lefts out 10 more Bn with other vehicles than BTR.
2 of them with cobra I. (As you mentioned earlier)
2 of them probably with Cobra ii (as army bought 102 cobra from 2018-2020)
1 with maxxpro. (As army bought around 44-50 of them)

That still lefts out 5 more Mech Bn.
Army has some old Chinese type 85 AFV and even older soviet MT LB.
Are they still in service? Or are there more BTR than 630?
@PutinBro Mentioned it is around 800? (I wonder what is the source)

Edit- I know I am asking a lot of questions, but you have to excuse my extra enthusiasm.
