If they could add Aselsan's DIRCM and Mateksan's Mildar to T-129, it would be the perfect choice for BD army amd air force.

DIRCM is in cooking phase.

Mildar was ready. Stuff was/is working/ready but Army didn't wanted for ATAK. Instead, they opted this kind of sensor payload for ATAK-II afaik.

Also MmW missile was needed, it could be done but they didn't wanted this either too.

Why it was ditched? Potential reasons are; 5 tonne MTOW and pylon carrying.

(AH-1Z is also carrying something like this too but, ehh)

Mildar was added.

Well, Mildar was added like this for testing purpose.

They need to add it op top of rotor for operational uses. Like this-

1693248503228.jpeg

The point is seeing the enemy first without totally exposing yourself.

But we didn't create MmW guided UMTAS, as of now afaik.

It would be a nice addition but not necessary though. The radar can still guide other missiles and cue electro optical targeting system.

For T129, rotor option is not possible afaik.

Maybe Tiger-like placement would be possible. Other than that, nose / pylons / upper wings / and belly are only placement options for T129, imo.

Adding the radar on top of the rotor on T129 requires a complete remodeling of the shaft and the rotor assembly. Costs probably outweigh the benefits for such a mature platform.

Not agree with 2 and 4 but other points you mentioned only make Akinci technically a better choice.
No american drone in this class carries mk84, Akıncı does. Akıncı has crazy variety of ammunition. It even carries more MAM-L than americans carry Hellfire.

Americans will not supply anyone a drone with AA capability or launch cruise missiles with long range. Specially to any Muslim country. Turkey will.

American may have better drones and sensors but they are not available to anyone but a few.

Afaik, no drones can carry 2000lbs ammunition. And MQ-9 does carries JDAM. (Mk-83 and MK-82.)

That's mostly true.

Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA flew for 13 hours and 24 minutes with a payload of 3000 lbs (1,360 kg). AKINCI rose to an altitude of 30,000 feet (9,144 metres) with NEB (bunker buster) under the fuselage.

Then @Kitra is right. If it can carry NEB then it can also carry MK-84.
I knew Akinci can carry 3000lbs in total but i didnt know that it can carry single 2000lbs ammunition on individual hard point.

Akinci carries it only on the central pylon.

Avenger is said to be able to carry mk84 as well but it is not in the same class and have not shown this capability in public to my knowledge

Indeed, pylons on the wings won't be that strong.

The most we've seen it carry on its wings is UAV-230 which is just above 200kgs, iirc.

Edit: Wait, I think the most it carried was Sadak-4 + 4 Tolun miniature bomb, which was recently sold to a country that operates/will operate Akıncı. That would make it over 600 kgs on its wing, I think.

Israeli drones are mostly kamikaze drones and recon only, chinese we have only MALE WL-2 Drones.

Poland is also choosing Wether to buy MQ-9B or akinci since
If we are talking about what we have from open sources then you are right. I personally dont think that Akinci will be bought to fill the gap left by the MQ-9.

Morocco values diversification, and have one of the largest drone fleet in the world. We have taken notes by recent wars, and how drone warfare have evolved alot within the last decade. I would assume that we are introducing systems that are compatible with each other. For example in the air we have the TB2, that gets supported on the ground by the Koral EW, and the same will go for most of other drones in the arsenal either they are chinese, american, or Israeli.

Koral EW system was sold to Morocco. Confirmed by the Moroccan media aswell as turkish media channels like TRT arab. We took our notes from the turkish experience in Syria combining MALE drone such as Anka with EW capability in the air, and using the koral EW on the ground.

That comes as a surprise to me as this combo is generally used to counter semi-regular forces with Russian air defence systems. I wasn't aware Morocco (potentially) having this problem.

Can you expand on the threat perception of Morocco? Is it the destabilization in Sahel?

the most potent link i found on the matter is this one:
and this article's source is globaldefensecorp.
the article says marocco bought a Koral EW for 50 million usd.

so here is my point, if Koral was available for export market why only sell it to morocco, i can list at least 5 countries that are closer allies that would have bought it right away.

second point , if Koral was to be exported Aselsan would have marketed it as avalaible in different defence fairs it participated.never seen it

the price point seems fishy, i mean 50M$ for such battle tested system, when you guys probably paid between 4-7M$ for a TB2. most likely between 120-200$M

Marocco is buddy buddy with Israel, the israelis have pretty much a monopoly in the defence architecture of morocco in the desert, don't think Turkey would let such a system, even a downgraded version close to any israeli friend country.

last point we have never seen any evidence of such deployment in any exercice, never seen any picture, even any OSINT sat picture of such.

Unless seen any evidence, i will keep assuming that Koral was not exported to Morocco.

Finally assuming Morocco has one the largest drone fleet in the world is also a bit weird, i am pretty sure Iran has a larger fleet than morocco. not even mentioning the top players.

let's agree to disagree here
