The Germans always setting the bar on how C*cked they can be.

Dont be surprise if they tell us if you want to cooperate in any defence project with them they will place this as a precondition.

The driver who killed the courier turned out to be the son of the President of Somalia!

Moto-courier Yunus Emre Göçer, who fought for his life for 4 days after the accident that occurred on 30 November at the exit of the Eurasia Tunnel, died.

It was revealed that the driver in the accident that caused the death of the courier was Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, son of Somali President Hasan Sheikh Mahmud, and the vehicle in the accident was the Somali Consulate vehicle.

News Break:

"We are giving too many concessions to the Turks, experiencing memory loss. Prime Minister Mitsotakis fully accepted the dialogue model requested by President Erdogan. Greece stopped asking the US not to sell F-16 fighter jets to President Erdogan.
We are sending very weak messages to Turkey. We also bowed to the Turks on the issue of minority schools in Thrace."

always remember the game, they cant afford for Turkiye to turn east but they don't want us to win anything being part of the west. They will constantly work to give us the bare minimum to keep us appeased. Just like erdogan and his supporters, in real teams do ZERO for palestine, but keep screaming and shouting threats and insults at isreal to keep his voters appeased. Unfortunately with ignorant people its that easy.

selling f16 is no concession its actually a massive downgrade, should be F35 or nothing. And from their perspective it stops Turkiye from going east and like i said before once you buy russian you wont be able to support Ukraine or Europe against Russia. To the contrary when Russia says they want 500 of your best armed drones you will have to sell him it. And instead of Turkish operators helping Ukraine fly the drones in their war against Russia you will find Turks helping Russia against Ukraine.

The black sea could potentially be entirely closed to only what Russia and Turkiye allow.

It would be nice to see a Turkish government who doesnt keep getting played so easily by the westerners. They bent Turkiye over with the refugee deal in the first place, proper screwed Turkiye.

Turks need to understand the significance and power of their geography and utlise it accordingly instead of allowing the westerner to get everything so cheap and easy.

For all the reasons we can come up with for why nations rise and fall, the most obvious one is poor statesmanship. It shouldn't be tolerated at any cost by the people. I know Turks here running kebab houses and they wouldn't tolerate their staff arriving 5 minutes late to work. If we applied that mindset onto the political regime, we would succeed instead of constantly failing.

I doubt it an American guy working for Nato ran over a Turkish girl.

Foreign Government officials serving in other countries always get away with it. Same with their families.

They will only get a slap on the wrist. Turkish law actually persecutes foreingers who break the law regardless of which country they are from.

Biggest problem is enforcing these laws.

Turks have been constantly insulting the Japanese on twitter over the PKK thing and now the situation has escalated so that some of their parliamentarians are openly hostile to Turkey, citing Erdogan's support for Hamas, a terrorist organization
Pretty sure thats the leftist politician who has been friendly with PKK linked groups and organizations operating in Japan, far before Erdogans Hamas statements.

Edit: Here the same person can be seen together with this guy. Image dates back to 2022.

Is he popular and likely to be voted in again ? If he wins it will likely degrade relations, but I don't know if we should care about Japan at all

Utilise PMCs.

Good thing about Russia and China that they can form their own shadow armies which helps them further their interests.

The common citizen will never question it because of the Authoritarian and totalitarian systems they have in place.

All of Turkiye's neighbours bitched about Turkiye getting F35s.

One by one they bitched about it and cried about how Erdogan was going to unleash his neo Ottoman army with F35s.

As long as you have rivals, enemies along with competitors in your region they will do their best undercut you from getting the best weapon systems.

He's from Kishida's party. And his wiki doesn't read like a leftist. More like right wing liberal, like most of Japan.

Direct overt public support to Hamas was always going to have its effects in rhetoric.

Quite the contrary; the crises are real, the resolutions fake.
There is really nothing concrete on the agreements so far that i've seen, apart from the 7 day visa free travel for islands. Nothing is binding, there is nothing to bind. But no mention of third countries or EU, which would be good if we can keep this between us.

edit. Full agreement:
Greece - Turkey: Text of the Athens Declaration

The leaders of Greece and Turkey signed today in Athens a declaration on friendship and good neighbourly relations in order to strengthen the positive agenda between them.

Greece and Turkey undertake to "refrain from any statement, initiative or action that could jeopardise the maintenance of peace and stability in their region".

At the same time, they underline that "they will endeavour to resolve amicably any dispute arising between them by direct consultations between them or by other means of mutual choice, as provided for in the Charter of the United Nations".

The full text of the Declaration is as follows:

Athens Declaration of Friendship and Good Neighbourly Relations

The President of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, H.E. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, representing their Governments (collectively referred to as the "Parties"), presided over the 5th meeting of the High Cooperation Council between the Republic of Turkey and the Hellenic Republic in Athens on 7 December 2023 in a spirit of goodwill and cooperation

1. Recognising the renewed will for cooperation between the governments of the two countries

2. underlining that the ties between the two neighbouring countries have the potential to significantly enhance the prosperity and dynamism of the region

3. Emphasising the need to continue to work jointly for the benefit of both communities in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual trust

4. Seeking to intensify bilateral relations through existing institutional mechanisms

5. Underlining that, in order to foster good neighbourly relations, both Parties will develop a spirit of solidarity in the face of current and future challenges, without prejudice to each other's legal positions

6. Underlining that, in order to promote this positive atmosphere and agenda, both Parties will encourage the exchange of visits at all levels with a result-oriented approach

7. Recalling that the maintenance of international peace and friendly co-operation among States are among the fundamental purposes of the Charter of the United Nations and universally recognised principles of international law

8. Determined to promote friendly relations, mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and understanding and to settle all disputes between them by peaceful means and in accordance with international law

9. underlining the importance of effective channels and mechanisms of communication at all levels for the successful management of their bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on avoiding conflictual situations and potential escalation

10. Emphasizing that both sides will approach their relations with a view to enhancing economic cooperation and deepening people-to-people ties, thus contributing to the prosperity and peaceful coexistence of the two neighbouring peoples, and to this end, taking into account the significant progress made in promoting a positive agenda on economic and trade issues through the Joint Action Plan, the two sides will explore additional areas of cooperation;

Agreed on the following points

1. The Parties agree to engage in continuous, constructive and meaningful consultations on the basis of

(a) Political Dialogue:
-On issues of mutual interest,
-Discovery/Consultative meetings;

(b) a positive agenda, including measures of common interest in the areas of labour-economy, tourism, transport, energy, innovation, science and technology, agriculture, environmental protection, social security and health, youth, education and sport, social security and health, youth, education and sport, or in other areas to be jointly agreed upon, in the context of the Enhanced Joint Action Plan, with a view to achieving significant and concrete outcomes, organising the agenda in a structured manner and constantly updating it with new items

(c) confidence-building measures, including measures in the military sphere, which will contribute to the elimination of unjustified sources of tension and related risks;

2. The Parties undertake to refrain from any statement, initiative or action that would undermine or discredit the letter and spirit of this Declaration or jeopardise the maintenance of peace and stability in their region.

3. The Parties shall endeavour to settle amicably any dispute arising between them through direct consultations between them or by other means provided for in the Charter of the United Nations.

This declaration does not constitute a binding international agreement for the Parties under international law. Nothing in this Declaration shall be construed as creating legal rights or obligations for the Parties.

TAI General Manager Advisor Dr. Halil Tokel (cooperation with Egypt)

An initial step was taken with the D-8 countries. We proposed 52 projects. One of these was the production project of a passenger aircraft.

Look, do we have valuable engineers in Egypt? Yes.. Is there any in Pakistan? Yes. Is it available in Indonesia? Yes

So, by coordinating and gathering these, we can design and produce the most valuable technological products of civilization for the world.

If we combine the potential and brainpower that exists in our heartland, we can achieve the impossible.

In this context, we signed the protocol today. Within the framework of this protocol, Egypt's aircraft factory will meet with its counterpart institution in Turkiye and joint studies will be carried out among themselves"

I am not sure how smart this is. With all the tension in the Mediterranean Sea, the unpredictability of unfolding events, the situation with Qatar and the Muslim Brotherhood, what if something wrong happens again and Turkiye have to choose a side?

I understand that Turkiye needs more friends than enemies but isn't it too early for endeavours like these? I mean just 3-4 years ago there was a real chance of Turkish forces to get into a direct fight with Egyptian forces for Libya. Turkiye just started serious diplomatic relationship with Egypt all over again. Moving aside the internal political situation in Pakistan we still have a long lasting strategic partnership with them and we don't even have to comment Indonesia but Egypt is for sure a strange choice for starting strategic cooperation. I hope the decision maker don't regret this at later stage.

Before you start to invest in countries like Egypt, what will they give back? Egypt can ask from ther strategic partners like Cyprus and Greece for projects like this:D. Egypt is a waste of time like they are talking with Greec.
