Why are our patriots going on and on about Houthis and the Red Sea, when a tanker off the Konkan Coast was attacked by a Drone possibly from Cha Bahar?
Its all a plot by Pakistanis and US to defame Iran according to "experts" in
twitter 🙃 They really want US to do the work but will then babble on how indian ocean is india's ocean 🤣

Because Cha Bahar is ours and Iran is a close friend and Doval was in Iran.

Oh dear, some calculations have gone wrong.

What warheads are those drones carrying. They haven't done much damage from what I hear.

We were not exactly innocent in Srilanka's case

China uses cash to get countries on their side, but these countries have massive economic linkages with India set up over centuries. So the China honeymoon lasts till the realization hits.

Having Maldives on our side is also crucial for Lakshadweep. The southern Lakshadweep have cultural and economic ties with Maldives. Also both Lakshadweep and Maldives are Islamic. If Maldives goes fully Chinese, the Chinese will definitely try to formant trouble in Lakshadweep seeing how important the islands are strategically and their religion being unwelcome to the current Indian governing party.
There is a massive boycott campaign against Maldives in India now. Not a smart move to piss the country that they were most dependent on. Hope when a cyclone hits them Turkey or China can get them water and accept them as refugees when they sink. But alas i have a gut feeling they will become "South asians" to these countries when that time come.

Point is that we are messing up relationships with each and every neighbour.
Think about this, and forget Pakistan. Going clockwise,
Nepal hates us, on two counts;
Bhutan is disappointed that we let the Chinese take over the family grounds of the royal family;
Myanmar, where the junta is fighting for survival, they are too dependent on the Chinese to bother about the Indians, whose efforts are down the drain;
Bangladesh hates us, everyone thinks that Doval's interference and helping Sheikh Hasina stay in power was a sign that their government was India's poodle;
Sri Lanka, where they are cringing, and pro-India, because only India will help them today;
and now
Maldives, where we were heavy-handed and have helped a political blowback that is effectively a free entry to the Chinese.

This is the brilliant diplomacy that is constantly touted.

Maldivian ministers posting racist and insulting things like 11 year olds on X would be seen by many as official. There has been massive cyber attacks on maldivian sites along with a bycott campaign. Debt trapping countries can hardly be counted as good partner.

What is the reason for the worsening India-Maldives relations?

Bangladesh hates us, everyone thinks that Doval's interference and helping Sheikh Hasina stay in power was a sign that their government was India's poodle;

Hehe, most Bangladeshis are ignorant and don't understand how political system function in this country, thus it is easy for them to fall for conspiracy theories. While India do have Hassina's back and has gained significant influence here in last 15 years but umtimately, she is holding onto power with her own 'merit'. If India backtrack on its support tomorrow, she would still be in power. Becuase, India has not much to do how masterfully she was able to tribalise all the state institutions (from Police to judiciary and election commission) over the years and consolidate her power.

I had some Convo with @Nilgiri few days ago. he said, BD's democracy is not actually very democratic. It is more like 'who dares win' arrangement. Even though I didn't liked it initially but after thinking about it for a while, I see he is right.

Couldn't agree, Turkey specifically turned out to be a good partner with BD. The same is with PRC.

Need time to think this through.

Turkey is ok but if people still think china sees any country as a partner after all that has happened I am sorry.

I dont think we were heavy handed in Maldives. Its just the plain fact that they hate us. They manufactured and propagated the idea of Maldives being some Diego garcia of India when the whole military presence we had were 75 guys on technical assistance. A tip to any aspiring politician dont run a campaign out of other countries especially when those countries have an history of regime change. Imraan khan, oli found it the hard way and haseena is gonna find out next with her bad mouthing of US

You mean there are people around the world who 'naturally' hate India?
As distinct from India-haters who hate India for a reason?
