Additional note: MCMW vassels are also highly capable naval assets that can also be used for underwater tactical picture or supporting oceanographic activities, and even for conducting offshore patrol activities.
Synthetic aperture Sonars!???? :))

@Anmdt

I haven't seen the early or latest design of Turkish MCMW , could someone show us?

Looks like Such big ships? We love big ships

One of the USV procurement will be of MCM focused. Dearsan has one MCM vessel design but i think that was for earlier times, or a foreign customer. That would be lovely to have something like Belgian MCMW vessel, will increase the capability of TN.

For anyone counting tonnage, TN has commissioned 35000+ tonnes in sum, yesterday. :)

Havelsan's Sancar is the only that is mentioned as MCM USV on SSB's website:

So far as i understand for the projects granted by SSB the breakdown of tasks are as follows (that i may have mentioned earlier in somewhere).

Sefine & Aselsan for the EW and ASuW USV,
Ares & Meteksan for ASW,
Yonca & Havelsan for MCM.

Dearsan is the lone manufacturer benefiting from Aselsan's technological gains in the SSB project.

It is important to note that this information pertains only to Phase-I, and there will be more phases to follow.

As expected, TCG Istanbul looks majestic.

TCG Istanbul is much more than a warship. I know it is cliche to write about it all the time, but it is a real breakthrough. Our valuable members in the forum have written dozens of things about the reasons for this, maybe hundreds of pages could be written, but this importance cannot be fully underlined. Let's take a look at the mini-clip prepared by STM about the TCG Istanbul localization rate, which is a summary of all these and which everyone will realize this importance when they watch it:

For the Turkish defense industry, at least for the naval forces, the embargo is no longer an obstacle. On the contrary, it is producing an exponential strengthening of the naval forces.

ASELSAN is such a valuable asset in our defence industry. Without it, none of this is even imaginable.

Looks like they confused "Azami" with "Asgari" on that slide.
Possibly not confused but they have misplaced a term. Maximum speed is often given as 'lower bound of maximum speed'. It is how it is used in requirements, so it may also go as fast as 50 knots depending on the conditions but in any possible condition it is not less than 45, therefore 'minimum'.

Get used to notation used by people who calls any guided missiles as 'gudumlu mermi : guided bullet'

Any information about hull design of TF-2000? Can we expect one hull design a la 'Zumwaldt' class?

I dont think it will be hull design a la 'Zumwaldt' class.

Much likely an UK Type 45 destroyer or Sejong the Great-class destroyer design.

No, please. There's nothing uglier in the world that floats on the sea. Also, as far as I know, the practical advantages of this hull shape are still debatable.

If there is to be a new approach for the navy with the TF-2000, my wish would be a propulsion system with the acoustic signature of the ship reduced as much as possible. The use of the IEP system in naval ships is now quite mature, this system allows for a less noisy cruising as well as the advantage of reduction in fuel burn, and so more range.

I disagree, Zumwalt is a ship ahead of its time.

Maybe or not, but whole mess of problems and uncontrollable costs, and ultimately the death of the program. It did not even come close to the impact of the Ticonderoga class. Until DDX arrives, the US Navy will continue to want more Arleigh Burke-class on the slipway. I think the biggest benefit of Zumwalt is that they have provided a very serious experience in the propulsion system that they will use in the next generation destroyers.

Le this, not expecting much variation from this concept.

TF2000_21_DHC.jpg

Add a proper NG EW (Only ESM is shown, that will be improved version of ARES-2NV3, better to call ARES-3) suite,
Add a SIGINT/ELINT antenna in midst (improving what briefly has shown)
Add a properly positioned COM jammer
Doubting but they may add RAM-like missile at Yalman RCWS positions
Add UMTAS - GM 2 / Cirit
They are talking of IEP-like system, the hull is spacious that transition won't be troublesome, but TN is currently holding a distance for electric propulsion in combatants.

8 (OPV) + 4 (I-Class) + 2 (LST) + 4 (MCMW) + 1 (TTHB)

This is my breakdown that i can fit to 19 (details below).

4 NG MCMW vessel to repace 5 Engin Class, prototype of TTAB, 2 LST as presumed as "options" from earlier times. to replace 2 Bey Class.

Iran style? :) DIMDEG will carry USV's and VTOL UAVs anyway.
  • 4x Istif
  • 4x Hisar OPV
  • 1x TT Assault Boat
  • 8x LCT
  • 1x Mine Hunter
  • 1x Military Tug
