You will still rely on spare parts from Germany...Germany is unreliable partner
Purchase would naturally include some spare parts, kind we would/might need in short term and that is more than enough. We won't have to rely on Eurofighters for decades like we have been doing with F-16s. We just have to make sure deliveries are done without a problem, which Italy and UK would also want (and clearly they've been pushing on our behalf) and that is all we need.

"Ministry of National Defense sources said the following about the Eurofighter and F-16 procurement:

Regarding the procurement of F-16s, a contract was signed in recent months, a timetable has been set and the process is proceeding as planned.

As for the procurement of the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, work at the technical level continues. These studies are being carried out in order to speed up the process. No conditions have been raised in these studies."

Well, this is certainly news to me. Unless the source or M5 mistook the quote, F-16 deal is signed already(?)

Per EF-2000, any possible conditions wouldn't be discussed in the technical level talks but political. Nonetheless, good news there as well.

Something that big would not be missed by defense sector people.

I think the ministry of defense blah blah is blowing smoke up our arses or what is more likely they're talking past each other.

That said I really like the Burc every base outpost should have one or two of these with the deployed troops.

Could be a scoop. M5 is made by sector veterans, though they are not above some falsification like any other. Let's see.

In the statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, it was emphasized that no conditions were put forward in the "technical talks" for the EF.
Germany will eventually have to give in, it already pissed off all the consortium members, due to their blockage of sales for no reason. Hence the reason they don't want to include Germany in any joint production stuff anymore. Consortium wants to keep the EF production line alive and we are the only customer left for that. And if everything goes well, we might even get more EFs so it's really a win/win situation for both sides.

So no, no conditions will be accepted, unless Germany wants to sever it's ties with other consortium members even more. It will have to eventually give in.

"On the other hand, the Turkish Air Force will also gain ramjet-propelled METEOR air-to-air missile capability with the Eurofighter Typhoon Aircraft. Good news is expected to come in a few days regarding the Eurofighter Typoon procurement. If the source code supply required for the integration of national missile and sensor systems (for the Tranche 3+ Block 7 version, which is also in the QEAF(Qatari) inventory) is possible as requested, we will be able to see GÖKHAN on the Eurofighter Typhoon as well..."

I don't think France would okay selling Meteor AAM to Turkey, but let's see.

Maybe the UK can produce the entire missile on its own, and their contract doesn’t require France’s agreement for exports? How does the METEOR partnership work? I feel like the UK desires the freedom to export their defense products without needing approval from third parties. Perhaps they structured the METEOR agreement that way.

İbrahim Sünnetçi is not type of of the guy that makes baseless claims.

So, there is a chance that, a batch of 12 EF2000 tranch 3+ fresh from the assembly line (meant for Qatar) could be diverted to Türkiye?

That have been the talk for the last week. Not clear if it will happen or sides agreed to it tho. It's getting tiresome to follow the tidbits.

I highly doubt Qatar will give up their planes and delay further procurement for years. Contrary to the propaganda, Qatar is not our ally. They buy defense products from us, they buy our defense companies, and they buy protection from the Turkish military. This is a transactional relationship, not an alliance. They are also training with the Greek Air Force, whose main job description is attacking Turkey.

“The Germans have made it clear that Berlin’s hands are tied because of domestic opposition to any arms sales to Turkey, beyond its naval needs,” he added.

“A bureaucratic maneuver to delay the Eurofighter sale”

Germany formally began technical talks with Ankara earlier this week over the potential sale of up to 40 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets worth $5.6 billion.

But the source said the move was simply a bureaucratic maneuver to delay the sale as much as possible.

“It’s like referring issues to subcommittees where you know there will be no progress,” a second source added. “A sale would be possible with a written guarantee

This is just repeating the earlier report from Middle East Eye and right after it, dated today, is the refusal from MSB.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz has defended arms exports to Turkey and sees progress in the potential delivery of Eurofighter combat aircraft. “Turkey is a NATO member, and therefore we often make decisions that lead to concrete deliveries,” Scholz said on Saturday in Istanbul after a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “This is self-evident, and we have made such decisions recently. There will be more to come,” he added.

The German government recently approved more arms exports to Turkey than in the past, which has drawn criticism from parties such as the Left and the BSW due to human rights violations in Turkey.

When asked whether Germany supports delivering Eurofighters to Turkey, the Chancellor only stated that there are some projects “that are still in the early stages.” He noted that the British government is advancing negotiations on the Eurofighter, which have just begun.

Imagine we agree to buy Eurofighters, pay a few billion dollars in advance, and just like with our F-35s, they don’t deliver the planes and keep the money.
