I watched Dr. Casagranda’s lecture series on Islamic civilization before. A member of the school of looking at history through “other side’s“ lenses.
However, while upholding Arabic contribution to world civilization, being an Arabic speaker scholar I guess, he seems to undermine Turkish contribution to Islam. Not that he is discrediting it but seemingly focuses less on the Ottoman impact.

Overall, the lectures were quite factual and were nice watching.

that is on purpose ! turks playerd critical rule in silk road yet they mention mongols but not the turks, timur among the top 3 commnaders of all time along side of alexander the great and Genghis khan but they wont talk about him although he was a greater then both of them ! alexander was a son of a king who inhertitae the famouse army from Phillipe the great Genghis khan had 4 man to be his horse (friend ) who run the empire and diplomocy for him and 4 man to be his dog (generals ) among them was subutai the greatest mongol general yet timur had none of these he didnt had army and kingdom like alexander nor he had generals and adviser like Genghis khan to run military campian for him he fought all of his battles himslf and he is the only counqurere who took moscow in russia and deli in india beat all muslim powers as well as crusaders ! the viraity of enemy he face is so vast that other generals woudşnt succesd in his place ! same goes to turks contribution to Islam Christianity Judaism and buddhism! and some islamist help them in that regard ! i can go on and on !

actually Genghis Khan is not that of a great general he had talented genrals that run military campain for him ! but not alexander, he fight all of his battle himslef like timur but he was son of a king with a powerfull army ! timur had none of these and alexander fought mostly only 1 enemy unlike timur who fought so many different army type from crusaiders to muslims to indians to russians to mongols ! ! it is insane how he overcome all of them ! beside European talks about mongols contribution to mankind via silk road same goes to Scythians but when gökturks or peçenek or kipçak , cumans ruled the stepps they wont talk about it ! khan's den did magnificent job of explaining how gökturks keep the trade and tech transfer flowing between east and west !
