As part of IDEF 2025, a new contract covering the
7th to 10th vessels of the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) Project was signed between the Secretariat of Defence Industries and
ASFAT, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün.

Designed to safeguard Türkiye’s maritime interests and ensure swift, reliable operations in regional waters, these four additional OPVs will further reinforce the capabilities of the Turkish Naval Forces.

Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance

Protection of Exclusive Economic Zones

Search and rescue; counter-terrorism and anti-piracy

Maritime control and special operations

Amphibious deployment in crisis response

Execution of non-combat operations
The first two vessels are scheduled for delivery in 34 months, followed by the remaining two in 36 months, marking a significant step in renewing and expanding Türkiye’s blue-water naval strength.

This initiative also reinforces the local defence ecosystem by combining low-risk design with high strategic impact.
