This is just a modernization right for the old panther howitzers nothing new
40 odd Panter towed howitzers are being turned into self propelled howitzers with new FCS, now called "Integrated Panter". Too small a number and about 5 years late.

I do hope that Yavuz is coming soon.

Türkiye’s self-propelled howitzer (OBUS) programs evolved from foreign-based designs to advanced indigenous systems, with key milestones from the 1990s to 2025.

Here’s a chronological summary of Türkiye’s OBUS development:

---

🇹🇷 Türkiye’s OBUS Programs: Chronological Overview

- Challenge: German export restrictions led Türkiye to partner with South Korea.

🔧 2000–2004: Development of T-155 Fırtına
- Design Period: 2000–2004.
- Based on: Korean K9 chassis and gun system.
- Domestic Contributions: Aselsan provided fire control and subsystems.

- Combat Use: Syrian conflict, Kurdish–Turkish clashes, and cross-border operations.

🔄 2015–2019: Transition to Fırtına II
- Manufacturer Shift: From MKEK to BMC Defence.
- Upgrades: Enhanced automation, faster firing rate, improved electronics.

🆕 2017–2024: Introduction of Yavuz 155mm Truck-Mounted Howitzer
- Unveiled: IDEF 2017.
- Developer: MKE.
- Platform: 6x6 truck chassis for mobility.
- Range: Up to 40 km.
- Fire Rate: 3 rounds in 15 seconds.
- Purpose: Supplement tracked systems with rapid-deploy wheeled artillery.

🚚 2023–2025: Fırtına II Deployment and Export Push

I was curious about the timeline, so thought Copilot could sum it up nice and easy.

Can anyone with insight tell us if it's accurate enough to ?

Thats what i was going to ask ? Why Turkiye have 2 wheeled 155mm howitzers ? Arpan is 8x8 but still the same class . İs Yavuz going to enter service or only 40 arpans ?

Arpan is the project to put 40 Panther towed howitzers on a 8x8 chassis. For now, it's only for 40 vehicles, because that's how many Panthers we have.

There were 2 different wheeled 155mm designs from MKE and Aselsan. Yavuz and Asya. Asya probably didn't move forward with development as we haven't heard anything from it for nearly a decade, but Yavuz is still being developed.

Only currently active army project to incur self propelled wheeled howitzers into service is that of Arpan for 40 vehicles. Yavuz will probably see the light of day in future.
