Vice versa I would arm the island instead of surrender. As I said, the genie out of bottle.Lets Put s400 on to Magusa city!! Do not fuck with us!!
Why put such a potent and expensive air defence system in close proximity of your enemy’s effective weapon range?
S400 can still do its job from Mersin or Hatay.

What we need to position in Cyprus are, stealthy Kargi loitering munition type bombs and FPVs that can take out those missile sites.

And another point which has to be stated here is Greek side already has Exocet missiles therefore reconfiguring Barak MX to anti ship role is higly unlikly and I am saying highly unlikly for the sake of politness

We only need one or two of these,

Even the Panther is enough.
I dont understand why people are making it look like a doomsday scenario.

It's a distributed mobile system that can be relocated in a matter of tens of minutes. It's an increased risk to all of our air assets. It's not a "doomsday" scenario, it's here today and will make all our business there whether in peace or in war much harder. It increases the risk of a flashpoint event and clearly shows our losing hand in the island.

As far as I know, one of the current BMC Power engines, UTKU, is made for Firtina howitzers

The engines have entered serial production this year AFAIK

have they entered serial production as far as i know its still being tested although it will be ready in 2027 at the latest
Isnt that for BATU? BATU is supposed to enter serial production within 2026-2027
Or maybe you are refering to the UTKU + domestic powerpack?

A new report prepared by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission caused diplomatic tensions in Brussels and increased political tension in Southern Cyprus. The document, published on September 12, 2025, included the term 'Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus' for the first time, and the Turkey-Libya maritime jurisdiction boundary was officially shown on the map. While the Greek Cypriot press described this development as a 'diplomatic earthquake,' the authorities in Athens and Nicosia demanded an explanation from Brussels.

2+2 Bergamini Class frigates, each 6900 ton very capable ships for open sea operations in the Mediterranean. Add these to the 4 x Kimon Class Belharra frigates and 4 x MEKO 200 that will undergo MLU. That is a very potent Greek Fleet. We all know it is not for NATO defensive posture. It is to show modern sea power against our naval presence especially in the Eastern Med.

We have 1 x I-Class, 1 x Barbaros Class and 4 x Gabya frigates that really needs replacing to counter them. In the midst of it all we are contemplating selling the almost ready I-Class ships. If correct, how much more delusional and traitorous a notion can anyone have?

We need to hurry and get those 8 x I-Class ships in to our Navy’s inventory and hurry up with the Barbaros MLU instead of fluffing around with MUGEM and somehow unnecessary Tepe Class ships. We must remember that, A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.

Aegean and the east Mediterranean are a close neighborhood we can access from our mainland.

Even though I'm no expert AT ALL regarding Military equipment, common sense tells me that no surface ship can survive in the Aegean or Eastern Med against Türkiye if Türkiye goes full force.

What I want to say is that we don't need to make panic. We all saw what the max conventional power of the US could do to Iran... It was quite unspectacular if you ask me.

But yes, I see Mugem quite low in the priority list.

It is not a matter of whether we can defeat Greek Navy or not. When it comes to showing force and posturing there is nothing much we have that can match those modern naval platforms. I-Class is a great little frigate. But is not in the same caliber as a Bergamini Class ship. Just as an example, both Belharra and Bergamini have Captas-4 towed sonar which is classed as the best in Western navies. It can supposedly track submarines 100+km away.
We are building a modern navy. When completed it will be best in the Eastern Med. But until all platforms are in place we have to be vigilant and improve our strike force.
