2+2 Bergamini Class frigates, each 6900 ton very capable ships for open sea operations in the Mediterranean. Add these to the 4 x Kimon Class Belharra frigates and 4 x MEKO 200 that will undergo MLU. That is a very potent Greek Fleet. We all know it is not for NATO defensive posture. It is to show modern sea power against our naval presence especially in the Eastern Med.
We have 1 x I-Class, 1 x Barbaros Class and 4 x Gabya frigates that really needs replacing to counter them. In the midst of it all we are contemplating selling the almost ready I-Class ships. If correct, how much more delusional and traitorous a notion can anyone have?
We need to hurry and get those 8 x I-Class ships in to our Navy’s inventory and hurry up with the Barbaros MLU instead of fluffing around with MUGEM and somehow unnecessary Tepe Class ships. We must remember that,
A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.
