Our last entry into WC was 2002, before that it was 1958. We never had that magic honestly save for individual talent and greater camaraderie in 2002.

Let's not forget the 2008 Euros, that was a fantastic run, we almost got to the final, we came pretty close to beating Germany.

I remember in my entire childhood Türkiye was seen as an almost top tier team. That disappeared by the time the 2010s came along. One other thing I noticed is that the players went from being humble to having huge egos

It was honestly shocking how badly Turkey played here. Feels like any football match involving you guys can be decided simply by flipping a coin regardless of all other factors involved.

For Turkey to have a chance in passing the qualifiers

I didn't watch the match, how did those 2 overrated young players play?

It's something I realized many years ago. If we have 1 or 2 good players, then they only play well in foreign teams. But once they play for Türkiye, they are just worthless.

How well a team plays has nothing to do with how good the single players are. Arda or kenan play good because they have team that plays good its like a limitation. Imagine you have a race car that has the best performance in every possible way but then you put some guy behind the wheel who has no experience with that its the same problem. Give me rather mediocre players that actually play together than the best players in the world that play alone. The best match to see that is Turkey vs Czechia and Turkey vs Spain.

I think in most games i've watched baris alper in the national team, the performance has generally been quite bad. He gives me Hakan Suker 2002 vibes where he's deeply connected to the establishment and it doesn't matter how badly he performs he gets to play. He also plays with no real national resolve, he clearly doesn't care about the team or the nation. All these players with their silly haircuts, effeminate looking shaved eyebrows and dogshit tattoos are an embarrassment. I wish these guys would understand who and what they are representing out there on the pitch.

Only thing i will say is that Hakan Suker in his day was a top top player, Baris alper have never looked like a good player for the national team let alone a top one.

I'm also no fan of Kerem either, though in some games as a sub he can have some use.

Put all that aside, even when the team went 2-0 down, there was no real urgency. Only way to recover this is to make sure players like baris and kerem don't play. But i think we've seen enough to know that potentially this team will lose the other 2 games. Honestly, im not sure its worth destroying your sleep to watch the other two games.
