Cyber Hindus, Cow Terrorists are not something most people are aware. But to trade in or eat meat in India can get you killed by far right Hindu mobs. And if your Muslim it just marks you out more for hate.

Hindu Nationalist Violence in India

Quote:

"Hindu nationalists, like their far-right contemporaries in the West, have been early adopters of the Internet. As early as the 1990s, Hindu nationalist organisations extensively used websites and chat forums to spread their ideology and recruit followers—including those in the diaspora living in Western countries and employed within the tech industry. Today, the BJP and its network of affiliates oversee an army of keyboard warriors, called ‘Internet Hindus’ or ‘Cyber Hindus’, who promote Hindu nationalist ideology whilst distributing Islamophobic content online.

This can have deadly offline effects, as the rise of cow vigilante violence—or Hindu nationalists that target persons, mostly Muslims, who are cow traders—has steadily increased since the BJP took office in 2014. Perpetrators of ‘cow protection’ vigilantism extensively rely on WhatsApp to communicate and spread rumours, a tool that is highly effective for its end-to-end encryption technology. Unfortunately, efforts to combat misinformation on WhatsApp groups have failed since most Indian users have dated hardware that does not support software updates, such as limits on forwarded messages.

A global issue.

Question of scale though and glass houses.

You look at the map today and you see Bangladesh.

You look from space and see Uighur camps.

Then you look up the genocides involving both.

One had survivors. liberation and a result.

I guess the other wont sadly.

Most else is matter of far less scale (given what you can't see from space + political result) but still everywhere, as little comfort as that is.

Question of scale
You are aware that BJP rule India today? You are aware that Prime Minister was refused US visa in 2000s for his role in the Gujrat Massacres? Are we surprised that this is happening in India today with a PM who has blood on his hands?

"Mr. Modi's failure to stop a series of deadly riots three years earlier by Hindus against minority Muslims in the Indian state of Gujarat, where he was (and remains) chief minister. The State Department invoked a little-known U.S. law passed in 1998 that makes foreign officials responsible for "severe violations of religious freedom" ineligible for visas. Mr. Modi is the only person ever denied a visa to the U.S. under this provision, U.S. officials confirm."

Bringing your favourite deflections "Bangla and Uighurs" won't cut my friend. That is deflection or what you might call "whataboutery". The thread is about what it is. Cow terrorists and Cyber Hindus.

We can go into pogroms and riots and terrorist attacks within and emanating from Pakistan in recent decades too on the same nationalist principle.

If you would like to use the US as highest absolute reference, we can also go into what they say about Pakistan establishment as a whole, if the OBL raid wasnt enough to illustrate it.

Point is only one (in the region) was of state-sanctioned scale that changed national map foundation.

"Bangladesh Genocide" google it, wiki it...and people can see for themselves just like Uighur Genocide today in another region.

They can make what they will of the sources and scales. Its up to them.

That is the thread title you chose (not the article title). It has been reported (or you can change it to original now if you prefer), as changing thread titles (right off the bat too) like that is unprincipled in this forum.

You can check with @T-123456 @Sinan and whomever else you please on it for next time.

The actual article title involves the following words:

Far-Right Terrorism is Global, but Coverage is Not: Hindu Nationalist Violence in India

So simply regarding the title key words, we can compare (for glass house logic) what are the biggest scales (genocides) that can be seen at vast scale (past and present) concerning these keywords. Stuff on the map and stuff from space.

You can call it state-sanctioned nationalist violence of the largest absolute scale and thus most fragile glass house inevitably.

It is left for the audience to decide though.

I wonder if United Nations will sanction these organisations as terror outfits, if not maybe Pakistan's NACTA should take the lead, like it did with LeT and JeM?

Not much chance. Similar to Kurds and PKK the Hindutwa have a strong lobby in the West and a 1.4 billion market. So Cow terrorists and Cyber Hindus will run amok without fear.

Pakistan cops it a lot because they failed to improve their image or use any sort of lobbying skills or soft power.

Seriously why do we Turks and Pakistanis suck at PR and lobbying. We cant even explain our point of view and quickly seen as the villains.

Cyber Hindus : Who are pretty much just lazy moniker for Trolls end up being classified as Terrorists, then you; my dear will be in deep deep trouble.... :)

Jokes apart, Just wondering given terror the word is a pretty broad spectrum, where does an ISIS, or a LeT/JeM compare with what you refer to as Hindu Nationalists...

Sure the west might not, what stops Pakistan, it categorized Kasmiri Terrorists as Terrorists in the NACTA list issued by Ministry of Interior - Pakistan? And the comedy that unfolded was that these are the same groups it's own military fought side by side in Kargil (by the admission of your own President and COAS)
