I think more about BRS from LST for BASARNAS, since it could do beaching in case of unaccessible harbour. But also came in smaller size tho.
Redesigning (as in designing new) is a complicated & expensive process. There is already ready for charter commercial solution for that.

Anyway those 2 tankers activities are clear breach of UNCLOS Article 19, Section 2 (g) "the loading or unloading of any commodity, currency or person contrary to the customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws and regulations of the coastal State" jo Section 2 (i) "any other activity not having a direct bearing on passage"

I just wonder who's the buyer of the crude that was transferred to the Panamian tanker

Bakamla just detained 2 tanker ships doing illegal oil transfer at sea.

Guys please at least provide simple english translation so that non Indonesian members could understand.
And was doing it within Indonesian Territory? It is crazy.

STS transfers are allowed, but they have to comply with STS regulations which is something hectic and i doubt if any of those ships had anything complying with associated marpol sections.
Was it happening within territorial waters and EEZ? They should have definitely informed Indonesian coastal authorities.
Addition:
The actual reason for detention was morelikely unauthorized ship to ship transfer.

Probably Iran is alreay in black list of IMO some more negative points will be added on there,
They got to pay fines (the company) ships can be detained. Sea men will be freed, they won't be fined.

We can always make case to confiscate the crude. And since this is an illegal transaction to start with, and most likely hard cash was intended to be use as payment, we can always confiscate those hard cash too. IF our diplomats are savvy enough (of which I doubt) we can also confiscate those 2 ships, but that will be tricky, but nonetheless doable.

Anyway, all BAKAMLA personnel involved in this should get promotion. And maybe bonus too

What more suspicious is, so far I can't find anything of MT Frea. Most likely they repaint the name with that name (MT Frea) to mask her original identity.

Oh, cmon
Their full fledge destroyer-called were on par with KRI Bung Tomo(i wonder why they use "Bung" as the name of ship?)

i must admire that Iran have huge capability to produce military stuff, but not with the economical way that they do right now.
