It's likely a Sigma with Aster and an updated electronics package. I HIGHLY doubt Damen would be stupid enough to offer another Sigma with Smart-S.

To be fair, it wouldn't be THAT bad of a choice.

ns100 radar ? (but its look small). maybe covered smart-s radar
"improved" in what aspect
more vls, the gun looks like the oto melara strales variant, new large mission bay and on the back looks like a RAM missile (i think).
also i think it might be longer than 10514

They can follow up the Itver route with Arrowhead or follow up the Damen route. There is chance for the Japanese to success too as they got more deeper pocket to financing the loan

im team babcock and fremm (either is fine)

what about you guys?
arrowhead would be the one for me but not in RN type 31 configuration, more firepower would be nice.

the japanese one also good and they can offer us with loan, but the system on those ship more to align with US than we who traditionally use the EU system.

It's possible to put eu systems in 30ffm, isn't it?

The possibility was always open . It's who will footing the bill for the sensor integration testing and trial was the open question here ....
And considering our " medit " culture ....
Yeah , you get the gist of it ...

IMO getting both 10514 and ship bigger than the 10514 is a must. I believe 10514 is a perfect platform to replace Parchim-class or as a GP/ASW ship, because it's cheaper (if MoD managed to get a better deal or even sweet deal with Damen), quicker to build (well, I guess smaller ship are faster to build than the bigger ones right?), and Navy also PT PAL are familiar with it than the other ones.

Are they misinterpreting Iver Huitfeldt as Arrowhead 140? I know Indonesian IH is a separate project but meanwhile it seems like the procurement of AAW frigate started to be considered in conjunction with the general purpose frigate (as it should be)
Arrow140 is plainly similar to the IH in terms of capabilities, dimensions, weapon spots. Except Arrow140 is lighter in sensors.

Not actually, i don't think Japanese would go into that burden especially while they could pack their own sensors.
And to be honest if they are offering prices low as FREMM or Damen, Japanese ships are equipped with much better sensors and CMS. (Better than Thales APAR or NS200)

Correct me if im wrong , Arrowhead 140 was supposed to be a flexible platform means they can suit specification that the customer wanted (sensor etc) , type 31 is one of the example where arrowhead 140 suited accordance to Royal Navy requirement .

The Cheaper the hull the better. It's the ship electronics that is the most important thing.

Wanna start a betting pool about which design will gets chosen?

i agree if 10514 meant to replace the parchim , they are in conjuction of kornas project/program afterall .
