For asymmetric Warfare, it's OK I guess. Or put it on Tucano.
Employing standoff weapons from a CAS platform is quite interesting, I think the UAE is going for it. It will probably be used on B-250, and B-350.

Even against conventional forces it is viable, mainly because of the range which allows for weapons release and retreating. The flight costs would be significantly lower, and allow for conventional fighters to perform other missions instead of having to perform these missions.

Yeah Israel was a little too forthcoming in PRC bonhomie+rehabilitation period (in new era after cold war etc) of the 90s/2000s.

I mean even (fairly pro PRC) clinton admin eventually reined them in from proceeding on delivery (Israel had to compensate PRC on cancellation charges).

There are always persistent murmurs on what Israelis also provided China from their cancelled Lavi program.

Nowadays things are much more segregated camps increasingly in geopolitics. I see Indonesia moving to (deep) western acquisition profile. Where relevant, it could involve Israelis or the related MIC-collab in US. It would be quite leg up if Indonesia works pragmatically here for its indigenous ecosystem for radars, missiles etc. LRDE (in India's case) has progressed quite substantially in last 2 decades with Israeli acquisition+cooperation.

It's a political suicide move for any indonesian politician . And we haven't backed to the corner as yet to make it worthwhile in any political or strategical consideration .
Make no mistake .... The option was always available on the table regardles whatever images they are try to pitch in for their follower .

I wonder, could N219 carry mini cruise missiles with major modifications?

I would say it is possible, it is NC 212 we make for Vietnam. It has two fuel tanks in the wings.

20 billion USD for Jokowi second term (2019-2024), and some of them are loan from domestic bank to buy local defense equipments, so what has been said by Ananda in Defense Talk saying it is all foreign loan is not true. Minister of Planning talked about overall spending of defense equipment until 2024, so it is not specifically talking about foreign loan, it means the foreign loan taken will be less than 20 billion USD.

Basically the spending will likely be quite similar like what has been presented by Air Force some time ago. Fighters will only get 1.6 billion USD foreign loan (Minister of planning approval), while Alman Helvast later said Finance Minister slashed it further into 1.1 billion USD.

With that kind of money it will be better if we bought a combination of new F 16 V and second hand F 16 block 52 (while it will be great if it can be refurbished and upgraded into F 16 V).

The plan is to fill previous F 5 squadron with new fighter, that is in Iswahyudi where there are already F 16 block 52 home base with ground crew and infrastructure for F 16, so using the money for F 16 V is the best solution.

Well kid, even a LM sales say this.
2020-2024 programme had already set 20 Billion US Dollar budget loan, that's actually enough to provide funding for many major program already being announced like Fremm 4,9 Billion US Dollar, Rafale around six to seven Billion US Dollar, MRTT around 0,7 Billion US Dollar, that's still fucking eight Billion US Dollar left for shopping spree. And now not to mention the government willing to give more leeway beside those already set loan budget for MoD to be spent to acquire many critical technology and weapon system.

And why government willing to spend more beside those 20 Billion US Dollar of MEF III loan budget, that's because this admin actually had left many homework from previous MoD who failed to utilized MEF phase 2 budget so greatly. And there is several failed or delayed Mef phase 2 program like military satelite, Fighter acquisition program, LIFT acquisition program, modernization of T/A50 i , Submarine, Frigates, tracked IFV for army, armor for Marine and so on.

Tell that to 08 !!! In case you haven't notice as yet we've been in this discussion for months !! Yet , it was his prerogative who seal the deal !!

Is this plane ever used for some operation by IDAF? I never see Super Tucano anywhere used in Papua or Central Sulawesi at all. Then, Broncos were active in East Timor (now Timor Leste).

Tucano was overkill for them ....
Papuan operation is a high terrain Jungle guerilla warfare at it finest . Be it in tactical learnings or real life logistical experimentation and training and exercises . Some said it was the very reason it was still " preserved " and ongoing today .
** The very hotspot in it self was only constituted around 5 % of whole papuan's province yet it was around the highland of carstenz mining area hence the highly exposure of it .

More 5th gen jet will join ASEAN Air Forces.

I expect Vietnam. Rising economy, inherently Russian allies (Soviet Union then) or at least close with Russia (defense matters).
Is Rafale+Eagle combo adequate?
Need a lot of military wargaming with various scenarios to answer it.

If it is according to your logic, there is no place at all for Indonesia to finance those due payment of Boramae project at all from 2016 through 2021 and now close to 2022 budget term (Ministry of Finance still doesn't approve Boramae project request funding in 2021 budget revision), which amounted for more than 1,4 Billion US Dollar sum as the projects is nearly at their advance stage!!!
