It is possible but AL-222/322 engine is a good proven design besides we need 2x TS-1400 to power a heavy drone like that which will change the design drastically moreover the compressor section of TS-1400 has to be redesigned.
İbrahim Sunnetci had mentioned in one of his articles that an engine the size of TS1400 would lend itself to a turbofan with 8-9000lbf thrust if necessary changes to the flow characteristics of the engine were made. This would mean around 5-6000lbf dry thrust.

Turkish drone-maker, BAYKAR Defence, introduced the unmanned aircraft MIUS (means Muharip Insansiz Ucak Sistemi-Combat Unmanned Aircraft System) on 20th July on Twitter. They made the announcement on the first day of Eid, and declared it as a gift.​

According to the rendering Baykar shared, MIUS will take off from LHD Anadolu, which is planned to be converted into a drone-carrier ship after Turkey was removed from the F-35 project with CAATSA sanctions.
Baykar had announced that they have been working on a brand-new drone model, TB-3 Bayraktar, and the head of Turkish Defence Industries told the press that LHD Anadolu is planned to carry 30-50 drones and will be able to control 10 drones in the air.

After Baykar’s announcement Selcuk Bayraktar, Chief Technology Officer of Baykar, stated on a video he released on Twitter that MIUS will be able to fly around 1 mach speed.
“The payload capacity will be around 1500-2000 kilograms and able to launch various missiles including air-to-air, air-to-surface and cruise missiles,” Selcuk Bayraktar said.
“MIUS will be the first step of the unmanned fighter aircraft of the future. It will feature sophisticated artificial intelligence algorithms” Bayraktar added.

No offense but if Mr. Selçuk says it will land on Anadolu, I would rather take his word than someones opinion here.
He is not a naval architect.
He can land it anywhere he likes, but currently he doesn't employ any naval architect who is experienced on such things.

Current runway and island length, elevator configuration is not made primarily for arrest landing but vertical, told it before in Naval programs in depth as well it is not feasible as is. Some studies are done but as of now there is no offer to please Navy on such modification which makes it feasible.

Second ship will mature by time they seriously think to have a 2-runway light aircraft carrier to allow it.

Great design nonetheless, i liked it much better than Haluk's sketches. Gladly they are not following his lines.

Moreover i will like this better with TF-6000 and jointly made with TAI so unmanned algorithms/sensors can be shared among.

MIUS is just a concept name right??

They are going to change it?

I wonder what Turkic word they will use it to name it when a prototype or a production ready model becomes a reality.

Not on Anadolu, wait for a bit and we will hear about the second ship.
Told it before too, companies show it off on TCG Anadolu because it is the only available platform.
TN is more interested for unmanned VTOL, USV / UUV oeprations froms Anadolu.

In the concept design, the engine nozzle section of the mius is not clear. There's probably some secrecy about the engine. It will have a powerful turbofan engine that will carry almost 1.5 tons of ammunition and reach supersonic speeds and 40000ft altitudes.

I think MIUS, probably with supersonic variant will have something like EOTS

Subsonic variant, for anti-terror operations could carry Aselpod externally to bring down costs.

They moved the air inlets to the sides and picked an afterburning engine. New design is much more like a fighter.

I do share the same concern as @RadarGudumluMuhimmat about carrier operations. Wings do seem small, and I find it strange that there's no tail. In fact there are no control surfaces visible. No ailerons, no flaps...

My guess is that this is a preliminary design and it's going to change before the prototype stage.

I think a proper delta canard design would have much more wing area, much more lift and therefore better payload capacity. It would be easier to land on a ship.


"It will land on a carrier because S. Bayraktar said so" is a weak argument

Guys, the engineer here is Selçuk Bayraktar. He is the guy who designed it. Who would better know? You or him ? So saying things like " it can't land on a carrier" or " it can't perform combat missions" are not up to you. They are designed it and they know what it can and cannot.


Ok, let's close the forum then. We don't know if there is an industrial engineer in this forum who has designed a tank in his life, knows what will be better, and has managed to put an armored vehicle into mass production. As far as I know, hundreds of messages are sent from morning to night about what should be done, how to do it, where it is wrong, do you know better than BMC or SSB employee, do you speak?

The guys who designed the island class corvette, mostly got their master's degree from American elite universities, don't know what VLS is and you teach it to them? Why are you doing concept studies for the finished ship?

???? Are you blaming the engineers for not putting in a system that the armed forces didn't want? VLS was not the priority back then. Armed Forces or other companies know their needs and capabilities. Those guys go through years of training and serve for years so they can be decision makers.

This is not the time to say things like we can't or impossible. We will try and we have to try until it happens. In addition, it is too early to make these comments for an aircraft that is in the conceptual design stage and only 3D pictures are published.

The engine required for MIUS is at least F-414 class engine. MIUS with the aforementioned features cannot be built with the Ukrainian engine.
