Not for long. They have a debt problem. For now, it is manageable, but they are on the verge of a population crisis, so I doubt that debt can be managed forever.Or buy both and become overpowered. They do have a very strong economy

They hadn't. In 2023, they had approved a bill that would use up to 6.3 billion euros to replace Harriers of the navy and the F-18s of the air force. Spain never went past RFI for F-35s, never committed.even though they had committed 6.3 bnEUR to the purchase
I've seen in several places that Egypt is interested in the Kaan fighter jet. Is there any reliable source about this? There hasn't been any official statement from our side.Egypt is interested in being in the Kaan project, so do we make a gift wrap of 48 pieces.

No statement yet just third party allegations.I've seen in several places that Egypt is interested in the Kaan fighter jet. Is there any reliable source about this? There hasn't been any official statement from our side.
This map is misleading and a complete work of fiction, you touting this around like this only muddies the waters.Egypt is interested in being in the Kaan project, so do we make a gift wrap of 48 pieces.

Most important post about why Spain doesn't need F35, but could buy if they wanted.Spain doesn’t need fighter jets immediately like the east European countries. Spain is far away from any battlefields, like Poland or Türkiye.
Yet one mustn’t forget the Spanish overseas territories. Most important post about why Spain doesn't need F35, but could buy if they wanted.
I agree with @Sanchez about Spain could entertain the idea of Hürjet and Drones on Juan Carlos, but tbh I don't think Spain needs any naval fighterjets, if drones can fulfill 80% of the tasks of a manned fighterjets.
They are so far away from conflict zones and the refugee boats are the biggest issue they have.
You say 500 KAAN sales. How do you come up with that number rather than 400 or 300? Who do you think will buy and in what numbers? Like you I think there may be Muslim states that will be attracted to buy KAAN. Very importantly, too, if a Turkish engine is used, it removes the problem of the US blocking supply by refusing to allow supply with a US engine.I said it before and I will repeat it KAAN will have at least 500 in sales. Just let it be a good Airplane. The Trust in the big power is less and many Muslim countries want to be part of this for different reasons. Some countries will potentially order 78+ KAAN. Other than all kinds of Ammunition and related drones.
Hmm I mean, 150 Turkey at least short term, 50 Indonesia, and then maybe Saudi and Spain 50 each at best? Who else is really interested? You say 500 KAAN sales. If an affordable and highly capable fighter comes out, countries like Egypt, UAE, Nigeria, Algeria, Malaysia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan will definitely buy it.Hmm I mean, 150 Turkey at least short term, 50 Indonesia, and then maybe Saudi and Spain 50 each at best? Who else is really interested?
Consider that pakistan is already buying chinese aircraft and azerbaijan is buying j17 and kaan is overkill for them. Oh maybe qatar one day

Capable? Yes. Affordable? Unlikely. Algeria is buying su35 and su57. Egypt and uae are politically not positioned properly still. Nigeria does not have such infrastructureand budget. Ukraine and kazakhstan are not very likely either. If an affordable and highly capable fighter comes out, countries like Egypt, UAE, Nigeria, Algeria, Malaysia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan will definitely buy it.
In a decade anything can change, lets wait for it and see.Capable? Yes. Affordable? Unlikely. Algeria is buying su35 and su57. Egypt and uae are politically not positioned properly still. Nigeria does not have such infrastructureand budget. Ukraine and kazakhstan are not very likely either.
Middle Eastern countries are acting in line with the Israel–US axis, but a strong Turkey with influence in the region can disrupt this axis. We just need a bit more time.Capable? Yes. Affordable? I can see Ukraine buying Kaan in the next decade with the TF35000 engine. I see used Gripen C from Sweden coming first. Sweden has about 100 C/D in service which I think will gradually reduce to 60 as Gripen E numbers build up.Ukraine is already our partner in engine production and will be one of the first customers of both Kızılelma and Kaan.

The South African Air Force has only two fighter jets, one helicopter and three fighter jet trainers as operable military aircraft...”The SANDF [defence force] has deteriorated to such an extent it cannot defend the country,” said Kobus Marais, a recently retired member of Parliament who was the DA’s shadow defence minister. “Major equipment is not working. There is no air force and no navy.”

Today, News24 can reveal the situation is more dire.
The SAAF has been transformed into a militarily irrelevant logistical service to ferry the president and senior government figures around in business jets.

Its current operable military fleet is made up of a single Oryx utility helicopter that returned to service in the third week of February, two Gripen fighter jets and three Hawk jet trainers.
The Gripens are the last of the 26 fighters bought in the 1999 Arms Deal. The rest have been broken for more than 10 years.
This list reeks of "Muslims will buy from us!!!!!" mindset, which is just... oh never mind. I'll eat the computer I'm writing this comment on if even half these countries buy Kaan, let alone in numbers given here.Saudi Arabia 100+
UAE 70+
Egypt 50+
Indonesia 50+
Qatar 48+
Azerbaijan 36+
Kazakhstan 36+
Uzbekistan 24+
Kuwait 24+

South Africa 24+
Libya 16+
