TR Turkiye's F-35 Project and Discussions

They will probably pay us some money, less than what we paid to Russians and that is it. We will be at a net loss.

This will go down as one of the most foolish moves of the century.

After we sell it to Qatar/UAE it is their system and their decision what to do with it.

They will likely try to introduce new goalposts, but regardless of that, S400 is not suitable for us, we should get rid of it even if we can't get F-35s.

What I heard is that S400 to UEA and Qatar is on the table . Russia is bullish on the issue and wants to buy back its own system from the UAE or Qatar. It is likely that we are selling S400 back to Russia in a complex roundabout way, not to hurt relations with Ukraine.

My friend Erdogan gave me this TREMENDOUS revolver. Beautiful gun, right? Some European leaders couldn’t even get it into their own countries. Can you believe it? Maybe he should have given them water guns instead! I don't know how these guys are going to defend Europe.

Not necessarily. TEI has a limited pool of engineers to run all those projects, and engineers are allocated to certain tasks from that pool. Let's assume you need 200 engineers to hit the timeline targets of TF-10000, but you can only allocate 20 engineers from the pool due to the ambitious...

%3,5 is not too shabby but let's not forget that only a quarter to one third of this amount is spent on new purchases, so let's assume we reached a GDP of 1.8T $ by 2030. Defense spending will be 63 billion $. We can expect 16-21 billion for new purchases.

Listen again. He mentions %3,5 defense spending by 2030 and adds we are already spending %1,5 on security which means we will reach %5 target by 2030. Defense spending and security spending are 2 different things.

It doesn't matter what costs are counted towards 24 billion. This is a huge amount. It is likely to be allocated for the next 10 years, so approximately $ 2.4 billion per year. We won't have any air defense problems by 2035. Erdoğan mentions 2030, but this is the target date to reach %5 total...

TR Turkiye's F-35 Project and Discussions

We should upgrade our 6 F-35s to block 4 standards, with the exception of radar, and take delivery that way. Lockheed offers a Block 4 upgrade without the nose bulkhead change for older F-35s. This way, we can use older APG-81 radars with block 4 configuration. The downside is that unless the...

    TR Propulsion Systems

TEI has a pooling system of engineers and scientists, but TF-6000 and TF-10000 still suffer from a lack of workforce. Every available resource is redirected to the TF-35000 project. Luckily, like %60-70 percent of the TF-6000 were completed before dedicating everything to TF-35000. At this point...

I think the Navy should invest in this missile. We should put Tayfun block 3 on board Navy ships ASAP. Roketsan should do studies to see whether it is possible to integrate Tayfun Block 3 to Midlas VLS, or whether it is possible to replace some of the harpoon launchers on the deck. Tayfun 3...

NATO NATO Summit 2026 | Ankara

Current plan is 2 squadrons for the airforce+1 wing for the navy if the US removes the ban on F-35 sales. There are no plans to buy more F-35s. The old plan of buying 100+ F-35s is dead, and it won't come back; it will stay dead. By the end of 2032, the Turkish Air Force will have 56...

No. The initial Turkish plan was to deploy F-35 and Kaan side by side in a low-hi combo similar to F-16 and F-15. The Turkish plan was to buy 100F-35A+16F-35B+120+ KAAN. Currently, Turkish plans are to buy 40 F-35A+16 F-35B if possible and create 2 squadrons, 1 in Eskişehir and another one in...

I'm not talking about todays NATO announcement. Turkish Land Forces will buy ~1000 Kara Atmaca cruise missiles in phases this is decided. I don't know How many of them are related to NATO. I expect ~40 batteries with 3x launch vehicles.
