That's called willful ignorance. They are encouraged to never look into it. Even if they see breadcrumbs or a Turk exposes the truth in an online argument, in the end they just choose to ignore this information. They just think about it at that moment, and only to disprove it. Even if they can't disprove it, they just choose to forget it. To be fair, it is pretty hard breaking out of that mindset. Doesn't change the fact that they are imbeciles for doing things though.

All of their information sources carefully construct the narrative about Turkey. There is no internal impetus for pro-Turkish narratives. In the past the US media just chose to ignore Turkish presence altogether, which gave the bureucracy leeway to do whatever they want. In the end, if some anchorman and his plastic surgery queen sidekick isn't complaining about something it doesn't really exist for ordinary americans.

We didn't exist for a long time. But we are down bad PR wise. We are oppressive aggressive conservative fascists for leftists, and subhuman muslim jihadists for right-wingers. The consensus is we are less than human.

Just look at the online forums or opinion pieces and evaluate how they are speaking about Turkey. General sentiment is "we must bring them to heel". Like, for what bro? Because we don't like to be SVBIED'd by kurdish separatists?
