I have been wondering, (after watching many shorts like this) What is this dish made of? @TR_123456 @Ryder
Traditionally it’s supposed to be cooked with yeanling AKA kid (young goat) (oğlak in Turkish) but since they are not common live stocks in some regions they are made with lamb.
And again some urban, particularly metropolitan areas developed a taste for beef above any livestock, at such areas you will almost always find beef versions and compared to first two, tbh, it tastes like horse meat. It’s chewy and tougher.
But it works I guess ‘cause it still is tasty.

The flap is a new take I believe. I guess they think it’s better looking for presentation purposes.

Isn't Astsubay translates to NCO (non-commanding officer)
“Petty officer is a naval rank that is equivalent to the noncommissioned officer (NCO) rank in other branches of the military:

  • Petty officer
The naval equivalent of an NCO rank, petty officers are responsible for the day-to-day supervision of junior ranks and may also serve as technical specialists. In the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard, the lowest rank of petty officer is petty officer third class, which is equivalent to a corporal in the U.S. Army and Marine Corps”

You are right and I’m usually very careful at translations but this is quite a “light” post so I didn’t mind honestly 😁

Fun Fact. Salahuddin Ayubi never undertook the Hajj.

Majority of Ottoman Sultans also never did hajj.

But remember undertaking the journey to pilgrimage was not for the faint hearted. People can easily critise this while they themselves have cars, phones and planes. While at that time they had to undertake it with horses, camels.

Lets not forget bandits and wild animals. People today have it easy compared to the past. I forgot illnesses too which modern medicine has cured but were killers in the past.

Sürücü's murder and several similar cases in Germany and elsewhere in Europe were cited by political opponents of Turkey's admission to the European Union as an example of disregard for human rights in the Turkish culture. Sürücü was of Kurdish descent.

Oh wow Kurds go on a honour killing in Germany. Instead of blaming said culture for it the Turks get blamed for it.

Honour killings are so common spread in Kurdish majority regions. Its not Turkish culture its Kurdish culture. Still Europeans would protect their pitbulls rather than see reality.

PKK rats are getting louder and louder every day... All state institutions, the whole state administrations, the Government and all big political parties are closing their eyes and doing nothing while these rats are infiltrating the country.

Where is the heroic Military and Police to crack some skulls, where are the real ultra- nationalists to make some of these commie scum disappear the old school way?
