Erdogan doesn't do debates, even on his TV appearances, all the questions are screened and answered beforehand. He will never put himself in a position where he doesn't already know the questions.
All leaders does that btw. From Trump, to Biden, to Rishi Sunack to Erdogan and even kilicdaroglu etc....
Dont tell me that any political member in Turkey who appears in debates or in TV doesnt know what he is gonna get asked about. It is just impossible

As far as I know, there will be a presidential debate before the elections right?

The polls show that Kilic has thrown away his lead. He was comfortably ahead in early March. Not in early April it is either very close (statistically insignificant) or Erdogan has a clear lead.

Other leaders get the general topic of the questions. The leaders prepare their answers for the potential questions.(This is for TV. )

It is very different for Erdogan. Erdogan has the answers and "journalists" prepare their questions for that specific answers. For couple of years now, journalists probably won't even prepare the questions either. They receive the questions and just deliver them to the Erdogan and then Erdogan reads "his" answer via prompter installed behind the journalists.

And no, there won't be any presidential debate. Erdogan won't face other leaders in front of TV.

Erdogan is closing the gap. I expect Erdogan to win a close victory in the second round. That was what I feared most when Kılıçdaroğlu became a candidate. 5 points is nothing CHP should have gone with Mansur. Anyway, it seems like no one will win the first round.

23rd Term CHP Deputy Mehmet Sevigen:

HDP executives go to the village guards and say, "In 45 days (after the election) we will ask them to account for what you have done."

Village guards are uncomfortable with the situation, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu should immediately make statements to reassure village guards. Village guards are the people who live there with their families and children, defending the homeland at the cost of their lives Village guards are the most valuable support point for our security forces in the fight against terrorism. If this support is broken, the entire fight against terrorism in the regions where PKK/KCK operates will suffer a terrible wound. The HDP's spoiled and provocative rhetoric and actions must be stopped.

In the US of A, in current times, a man in his truck gets surrounded by armed BLM activists and gets shot in his shoulder whilst in his truck. He tries to get away from the scene and crashes his truck while attempting to do so.
When he wakes up, he finds himself handcuffed to his bed and indicted with aggravated manslaughter.

You may think this is an irrelevant event, but the mindset behind it is exactly the same, and these people are yearning to bring this "dismantle the order of things and destroy those who try to keep us from doing it" playbook to our midst.
We may be able to thwart it this one time, but this isn't something we can conclusively end by casting votes and crossing our fingers.

We need decisive action against this new breed of "red terror".

Honestly im sick of these politicians giving such stupid unrealistic optimism to their voters.

Akp said so many times we will make no visas to travel to the Eu. Nothing has happened now these guys are like within 3 months.

Stop doing this your voters and start being honest!!
Mate, Kilicdaroglu isnt lying on this one and he can actually get the no visa travel to the EU when he completes the last 3 laws that needed to be implemented

However, have you ever questioned what sort of laws are these last 3 that even Erdogan doesnt want to ratify?

1-Amendment of the Anti-Terror Law (TMK).
The HDP and PKK, together with the European Union, want the anti-terrorism law to be changed the most because this law is the most important factor in ending terrorist acts in Turkey, if this law is changed, HDP and PKK will be able to make room for themselves again. And what is interesting is that the Nationalist Mansur Yavaş aligns with the HDP and PKK. For example, with the amendment of this law, it is requested that the application of trustees be ended. It is requested that municipalities' support to the terrorist organization PKK be excluded from the scope of crime. Again, the EU specifically wants the "definition of terrorism" to be changed. In this context, it also demands that the provisions that include "those who perform actions by covering their face partially or completely to hide their identities be sentenced to imprisonment from 3 to 5 years" should be changed. Terrorist acts are demanded to be released. It has been declaring to the European Union that this will not change in Turkey since 2016. In the EU, he says, you open a field for terrorism and we will give you visa liberalization. Let's come to the second of the issues that Mansur Yavaş said, visa liberalization with the EU will be done in 3 months, 3 laws will be issued.

2- Implementation of all articles of the EU-Turkey Readmission Agreement.
You know, the article signed by Ahmet Davutoğlu on the return of Syrian refugees to Europe, President Erdoğan suspended many articles of this agreement, but Mansur Yavaş and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu say, “No, we will abide by this agreement and on behalf of Europe we are indifferent to all refugees. We will take care of it unconditionally and prevent refugees from crossing into Europe.” Can you see the contradiction, those who say, “Why are we looking at the refugees sent back by Europe” at the rallies on the television screens say that they will abide by the agreement with Europe. Mansur Yavaş says that there are 3 laws that are crispy and crispy, and when they are enacted, Europe will be visa-free, please explain those 3 items. Or if you ask the presenter, those 3 items are given to Mansur Yavaş. Let's come to the 3 items in Mansur Yavaş's statement "We will enact 3 laws and then we will go to Europe without a visa":

3- Effective cooperation with all EU countries on crime-related issues.
Here, too, the European Union wants the following: “When we ask for information from Turkey, we will give it immediately, when we ask for intelligence, we will give it back immediately, when we say to extradite someone, we will return it immediately, but when Turkey demands similar things from us, we will look at our legislation and legal conditions.” For example, if Germany asks Turkey to extradite someone it deems guilty, Turkey will immediately extradite it, but when Turkey asks Germany to extradite a PKK member or FETO member, Germany will look into its legal situation, that is, it will not extradite it.

That is why when I said that the CHP is lying about the return of refugees back to their homeplace. That is why I said that the CHP is even worse than the AKP...... but no mate, ppl are willing to believe this nonesense just to support their football "political" team
If anyone read their 244 page promise and notices the part of the "special funds" to HURJET program even though it isnt sponsored by the state in the first place will know that the CHP is just way too ignorant and are just saying what the ppl wants to hear in order to obtain votes

You want refugees to get out of Syria? Sure, we CHP will do that
You want a secular state with no religion? Sure, we the CHP will do that
You want a state where religion is respected? Sure, we the CHP will do that
You want to stop terrorism? Sure, we the CHP will do that
You want us to stop prosecuting the PKK? Sure, we the CHP will do that
You want us to get out of Syria and Libya? Sure, we the CHP will do that
You want us to stop the refugees influx and terrorist influx to Europe? Sure we the CHP will do that
You want us to fix the economy in 3 months? Sure we the CHP will do that
You want us to support the poor by providing cheap loans? Sure we the CHP will do that

But the question is.... how will they do all this when nearly most of the agenda is in conflict with the other half of the agenda
And sadly, the refugees will stay in Turkey and the CHP will do nothing at all to kick them out especially if they ratify the remaining 3 laws for the EU Visa requirement

For the first time since his tenure, I actually agree with Nebati on one thing
Translation:

Minister Nebati: “Today, the 7-table table continues to play with 7 different strings in the field of economy. One is talking about tight monetary policy, the other is distributing money to the market from a ladle in his imagination, accompanied by pink flowers.”

Eu criterias constantly change.

If Turkiye wants to go into Eu they constantly have to go through hoops just to get in while Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia got in with pretty much ease.

Same with Cyprus, Cyprus is the money lundering centre but the EU ignored it and got them in.

After Cyprus got into the EU. EU said to Turkiye you have to get out of Cyprus to get into the EU. Even if Turkiye withdrew there is no guarantee in Turkiye going into the EU because it has other criteria it needs to complete.

3 months is unrealistic. Turkiye became the border guard against refugees and illegal immigrants guess what the EU put the finger now millions of them are stuck in Turkiye.

Either way AKParty need to lose. They did enough damage to this country. Kilicdaroglu can be removed if necessary. Erdogan and his Islamist friends can’t. Overall this is far more dangerous than everything else right now.

Decades have past people still calling Erdogan an Islamist is fcking hilarious.

The man comes from an Islamist background but is one of the most opportunist and machivellan politicians in Turkish history.

There is a reason why this man keeps winning for decades.

People still call him dumb or they constantly place name tags on him. Then whine when he wins again.

The man plays his game of being a politician pretty well. The others are only trying to catch up. Still wont ensure he will win forever.

Sinan Ogan talking about chip production while Erdogan and KK beat around the bush like fools.

Sinan Ogan deserves a point from me just for this.
Dude is saying all the right things to score my hypothetical vote right now. Though I do think his chip manufacturing hub dream is a bit farfetched at the moment.

Although I may be biased because he is an ethnic Azerbaijani.

I just checked a million Azerbaijanis live in Turkiye and Eastern region Turks when speaking literally sound Azerbaijani only to realise Eastern Turkiye also has lots of Azerbaijanis hence why both similar in dialect.

Im surprised I thought most Azerbaijanis live in Istanbul thats not true lol.

Big amount live in Eastern Turkiye.

it might not be such a farfetched dream as the semiconductor industry is hitting the physical limit of how far the industry can go and Turkey is only around 18 years behind.

What about concepts like democracy, education, economy and justice in the Ottoman Empire? Only in stories and rumors...Times have changed, we are talking about today's world.

Also, Kurds are not a minority by status. Let's not confuse them with Armenians and Greeks.

None of that matters; tribalism still finds a way look at Brexit.

The only way to end the Kurdish problem and other ethnic problems is for Turkey to disrupt the ethnic dominance of Kurds in the East and mix their population up with the rest of Turkey's ethnic groups. As long as there is any territory that is majority Kurdish, the separatist movement will not end, as the existence of an ethnic heartland not only stops them from assimilating into a wider Turkish nation but also makes it possible to achieve a separatist state.

This is also something Turkey needs to keep in mind when dealing with the Syrian refugees and other ethnic groups. Turkey needs these refugees and migrants to make up for its low birth rates, but the problem is that Turkey doesn't even try to assimilate these groups instead, it lets them group up in the southeast instead of spreading them out. The West does a better job assimilating these groups than Turkey despite Turkey having the power to do so. The Turkish Republic's incompetence is especially surprising since most of these individuals come from lands that Turks have dominated for centuries, and Turkish soft power is especially strong in does areas.

The Turkish Government needs to look at the early Ottoman Sultans for inspiration as they understood the importance of engineering the demographics of a nation in a way that helped the state, not just leaving the problem alone while being stuck in an endless game of whack-a-mole.
