Guys you may not do much if you are afar but whomever uses social media (twitter eksi instagram whatever) may function to coordinate people or serve as communication relays to help people find each other or relate the aids and the ones in need.

There are too much information, calls, announcements people are needed to relate these eith each other. People in field can not swipe down to see all and filter.

One thing to keep in mind on the topic of why Turkiye is not flooding the area with military, is that Turkiye wants to avoid creating chaos in the devastated area.

If the area is flooded with military and random personnel, it will severely negatively impact the efficiency, work and coordination of professional rescue crews. Priority 1 right now is save people from the rubbles.
Its interesting how the only ones who defend mismanagement are foreigners.
Do you guys know Turkey better than Turks? Please you want to defend mismamagement then do it in your countries, critisizm thats being done is rightful, stop inventing excuses for the government, it gets annoying.

The area of destruction is vast, there can not be "too much" helpers, there are still town that havent seen any help yet, dont be ridiculous.

This is silly, military is absolutely needed down there to keep order and assist in rescue efforts. There are already reports of looting and violence, there needs to be law enforcement officials on-site to prevent chaos.

I didnt even mention Erdogan, i was simply talking about corrupt construction planners.
But now that you opened the can of worms, after 1999 they put a mandatory earth quake insurance on every single homeowner, this was almost 25 years ago, that money was to be used to strenghten infrastructure and demolish old vulnerable buildings.
It was to enforce stricter building codes yet even new buildings seem to collapse too.
What happened to that money?

Again stop stop defending bullshit, construction sector is corrupt to the core and the government is turning a blind eye to it thats not even a secret.

Who said im defending bullshit.

Read again.

I call all sides actually.

Construction sector can be corrupt, constructors can be animals without conscience. But none of that matters.

It is the state institutions who have to do the supervision. If state institutions are rotten than do not expect good constructions from constructors. It says enough why state buildings usually collapse first (hospitals, municipality buildings etc.)

You can do the math ; nearly 12000 buildings collapsed. As it happened at 04.17 in the morning, most were caught in their sleep, not able to escape. (When you are shaking like that you can’t really escape never mind walk) .
Each building with 6 to 20+ apartments would put potential souls under rubble at around 200 thousand. They apparently managed to get under 10000 out alive so far. The situation is dire at the moment as it is cold and there are not enough people and equipment for rescue effort. Due to slow reaction time and the extent of the large affected area it is hampering the whole rescue operation.
We have never had such a big area that needed to be seen to. Previous quakes were more localised. We are talking about 10 municipalities here. The state was caught off guard.

No worries, someone in the government does nothing else but crushes number everyday just to see how they will maneuver out of this.

There is no clear coordination, as of day 3. AFAD management (top board) has zero experience in disaster management, president and vice-presidents do not give any hope or relief to people with their speech.

the state has failed, civilians are organizing stuff independently most of the time.

No u cant do the math like that cos most buipding collapsed due to aftershock earthwukes , there were 10+ earthquakes 6+ Righter . most of those 200k people have get outside when first earthquakes occur and never come inside . The 2nd earthwuake strong 7.7 occur at 11 AM , Still there were no people inside buildings if there are stupid and stayed than is another story .

Isn‘t the Turkish military mobilized for the disaster areas? Why, bad blood between Erdogan administration and TSK?

In the UK almost all municipalities and towns have collection point of donations for the Turkish earthquake victims.
Just Google or

There are points in many towns where you can donate goods physically. Just check British Red Cross and Oxfam reception of goods points.

The 2. Army got deployed after 12 hours and cities like Antakya (400k residents) couldnt be reached in the first day due to damaged road infrastructures.
The military has tonns of helicopter at disposal but they were still waiting for orders from higher ups.
The coup attempt left a trauma in the government, they dont like seeing military in cities.
