Whats the point of developing another ciws while you already have gökdeniz and making it almost identical with phalanx ???
İt seems much more compact than phalanx so it will suit TN warships with limited space. I adore it. Congratulations to MKE.

Also it seems to me it has more simple drum magazine than phalanx. İt is very difficult to load Phalanx's drum magazine so it uses hydrolic loader which weights tonnes and occupies huge space.
İ think MKE's drum magazine has lower capacity while it can be loaded with electric loader instead of hydrolic one.

How about some own design inputs? Same with the 76mm gun...

They use to say similar to Japanese products in 1970s. They were saying it for the Chinese in 2000s. Same with South Korea. All today are leading in design.

I don't care if its a exact copy, stolen or anything else as long it gets the job done. Unique will come later with knowledge, experience

Don't congratulate them too early.

If i have seen this news as "Aselsan working on CIWS like phalanx" i would believe it. But when you say MKE...than i just raise my eyebrows.

Small dome, possible Multi-Function AESA radar for search and track ? Would like to see some E/O integrated to it.

The ole faithful Phanlanx Block 1B for comparison

In my humble opinion, even an AESA radar with little antenna couldn't search broadly what the warships needed. İ guess the Turkish Phalanx will be integrated with main radar.

HAMMR - HIGHLY ADAPTABLE MULTI-MISSION RADAR
HAMMR features a compact, lightweight ground configuration that employs an active electronically scanned array (AESA) antenna technology from airborne fighter aircraft.

Supporting multiple missions in multiple environments

The system is a derivative of the Defense Department's Ground Based Fighter Radar (GBFR), a multi-mission ground tactical radar designed to provide the U.S. Army with counter-rocket, artillery and mortar (C-RAM) as well as air defense capabilities while "on-the-move."

Looks good to me :) Aselsan multi-function Mini-AESA radar please :)

Nothing official but Navy is the priority of this project. Navy's models, illustrations are not the final product. Navy loves to surprise.

@Spook Bro we all like to laugh on memes but please don't post them out of the chit-chat and meme threads. If we allow this the thread can become a "best meme contest" real quick and we want the quality of the discussion to be on a higher level than that.

I edited your message and issued a warning (because of repeated offence). You got 2 of them and it will be ridiculous if you get banned because of repeated offence like that (you didn't curse, didn't attack anybody etc). I can assure you that nobody wants to ban you on whatever reason but the situation will become a real meme among the moderation team and will enter the history as the possible most ridiculous ban issued ever if you continue like that and there will be nothing we can do about that 😂

I personally am enjoying them and laugh to them a lot but post them on Cay Bahcesi for example and out of the serious threads. Thank you in advance! 😋

I really like the design, but less fond of how the ammunition is fed. Is this really for Navy use ?

This Gatling gun could be applied on land vehicles against drones since we have this new great platform for Navy.

Imagine as if The new platform had 6 Bozdoğan based RAM misilles. Gatling gun + missiles CIWS platform would allow us using all limited spaces immensely. We wouldn't have to toss up between RAM and Gatling gun.

HİSAR A+ system has been delivered with all its elements!

HİSAR O+, which destroys a high-speed target at long range and high altitude in warhead shooting, is going into mass production

Finally the biggest rival of MİCA VL/ Umkhonto VL has appeared. I hope it will achieve great export success as IIR guided missiles bring Great tactical solution.
I'm looking forward to seeing Hisar's Naval VLS.

Hisar A+ & Hisar O+ class missiles are 4+ Mach speed missiles. So they should, in theory, be able to stop supersonic missiles as well as supersonic planes. The test pictures we see are with ”Simsek” . It is a subsonic turbojet propelled UAV/plane. Doesn’t any body here think that it should also be tested against supersonic missiles and planes.
US uses old F4’s and supersonic test missiles?
Aster30 have been tested against similar threats. How can we be sure that the Hisar missiles will hit in real life, a 2 Mach plane? Or intercept a SRBM? Or stop a sea skimming supersonic missile?
I am sure that they have simulators that tell them that it can do these things. And they can extrapolate from data received from “Simsek” tests that it can do these things. But to me, seeing is believing. And it would be to many prospective buyers too.

Upper tier SAM (90-100km Hisar, Siper, S-400) will take care of those targets flying supersonic at high altitude. The targets that a Hisar-O+ will encounter are not high-flying supersonic planes but subsonic fighters, helicopters, UCAV's and PGM's at mostly low and medium altitude.

That is why Turkey is developing a layered ADS each with their own strengths and weaknesses complementing each other.
