When you say you found it to be a derivative, did you find the US one or the MKEK one to be a derivative of Israeli sabot?I just researched him and I find him it's licenced copy or derrivated from İsreal M322 apfsds.

The lighting system is embedded in the body. This can be a handicap. The lighting angle of the left and right areas will therefore be narrower. Of course, this is a prototype. They will be tested to achieve the best.

I hope these prototypes are updated to the latest specs and fitted with new Akkor active protection then given to the army for them to add to their inventory. We need every single one of them to be battle ready.Three Otokar produced prototypes of Altay,

Looking at the two pictures below of Altay new armour (first picture), and Leo2 with Altay lookalike turret, one cannot help but think if they are just mock-ups. In the video, they did not rotate the turret once. Also the two turrets are not exactly the same. It is like the one on the Leo2 is more like a mock-up just fitted over the original leo2 turret.
These turrets will have to be fully operational and accepted by the army after being tested. So we do not know if these tests were carried out or if BMC was showing these as: “this is what we can build” . Nevertheless I really like them. And I think this is the right thing to do.
Any ideas?? Comments??

It’s the place where the optics will be mountedJust look at the top where the remote control machine gun is. All the internal wiring is in the open and showing the guts of the system. This is not very good. Not for a country like ours.
If modernised to accommodate a120mm gun and brought to a battle ready condition like the M60T1 sabra tanks, these machines could still serve the army. But this could be too costly to undertake. So I can’t see Turkish Army choosing that route if they can get their hands on Altay proper. If Altay is delayed further then your suggestion is valid.Only logical solution for using m-60's for mbt in the future is 1000 hp bmc engine + unmanned 120mm turret . With this condition we can make him in enough maneuvrability and chassis and crew protection
How? There’s one seat in the chassis.Only logical solution for using m-60's for mbt in the future is 1000 hp bmc engine + unmanned 120mm turret . With this condition we can make him in enough maneuvrability and chassis and crew protection
they can still destroy those IFV and 8x8 vehicles with 105 and additional armor instead of adding heavy 120mm and extra cost.. they could also support some infantry fires while 120mm tanks are busy with tank to tank fights. you can also sell it... so many options instead of spending more on them..Only logical solution for using m-60's for mbt in the future is 1000 hp bmc engine + unmanned 120mm turret . We need re organize chassis. How? There’s one seat in the chassis.
Even 20 mm cannon you can penetrate most of the ifv's and 105mm also.they can still destroy those IFV and 8x8 vehicles with 105 and additional armor instead of adding heavy 120mm and extra cost.. they could also support some infantry fires while 120mm tanks are busy with tank to tank fights. you can also sell it... so many options instead of spending more on them..
Then building a new one will be easier and cheaperWe need re organize chassis.
instead of modernizing m60 I would produce some fnss kaplan mt they should be enough specially for navy missions you can transport them easily due to their lesser weightChassis of a modern MBT might cost %1 of total cost. İn order to reconstruct them you should replace suspension, engine etc with modern ones. Unfortunately for M60's producing new suspension would cost more than ALTAY prototype.
Let old M60's work as how they're.
However it was nice photoshop work.
İ can't understand what's wrong with modern TULPAR with modern 105mm gun with laser guided missiles and high tech sensors?
TULPAR has cockerill 105 mm turret.instead of modernizing m60 I would produce some fnss kaplan mt they should be enough specially for navy missions you can transport them easily due to their lesser weight
against terrorists and as supporting rule its more than enough tulpar does not have 105mm gun I think a ready soulution like kaplan is good
