Tank-2000 was the name of the project which Altay was developed within (started with purchase then evolved into development similar to T129). And this is likely the first conceptual image from 90s when the project was first commenced and Land forces issued their requirements.

At that times this was the video that was shared for this project

Altay tank, in a new format is being readied to be delivered in 2023 for the first two samples of a batch of 100 tanks.
Upon receipt of a go ahead from TSK after the necessary tests the remaining 98 units will be delivered in instalments of 8 units per month.
Although it is Altay in name it is quite different and an improved version of the original prototypes manufactured by Otokar.

Altay will be available for export right ?
Hopefully, BMC or OTOKAR become experienced and matured enough with this platform to modify it according to the different requirements of friendly countries and offer it at a reasonable price.

With which powerpacks?

I smell something funny. But gonna keep it to myself.

Maybe they will prove me and others wrong for the first time…

Will we see any similarities between the Altay tank, and the Abrams-x in the "New" tank?

Abrams x is not finalized yet. it was just a technology demonstrator for a possible future fourth gen MBT. there is more to add with it.
Altay is a 3rd gen for now and can evolve into a 3.5 gen platform.

At least BMC has been doing something during the ~6 years in which the program was delayed since the original Altay tank is nearly obsolete by now

I doubt it in this initial batch. It will have an Aselsan built active protection system on it. It’s situational awareness and fire control system together with it’s armour (both ERA and conventional) will be brought up to latest spec. In general this Altay will be a big step over the technically most modern tanks in our inventory, the M60T tanks that have gone through extensive modernisation programs.
Altay will be built in instalments in various blocks. Each block will contain new additions in line with feedback provided from the frontline and TSK. Next batch or one after that could be with a turret void from human element.
As the viability of MBT’s in battlefield is being questioned, it is early to say anything about later batches.

Eight tanks per month is a respectable production capability for which a lot of discussion was made for no good reason. They will likely finish the production of the first batch in just a year. Once the BATU engine is ready to power tanks Turkish industry will be able to make any tank in any configuration. What we need was not the tank alone but the industry that can make them.

It's a well known secret that the BMC serial production is a fiasco from the beginning, the whole tender was already shady as it can be.
No, everything was very clear and clear from the beginning of the project. In this project, the owner of the tank was the Presidency of the Defense Industry (SSB) (formerly the Undersecretariat). All kinds of savings related to the project belonged to Ssb. From the connection with Korea to the initiative of Tümosan, all kinds of control, from the smallest screw, were in the SSB.

Bmc entered the tender and got the job with financial competition. Personally, I'm glad it didn't stay on the bus. I cannot look at a product produced by koç mark with the eyes of a local. As if, if Otokar took the production job, would a German engine give it? No.

But today, the domestic motor initiative comes to an end. Bmc evolves the tank to a higher level. And new 8x8 apc.

The Altay tank project needs to be killed, no need to make it a matter of pride, Things that happen in every country. A newer and more modern project should be made from scratch.

In addition, BMC should be prohibited from entering public tenders.
In other words, companies that are successful and do something for the country should be punished once again.

Why, because the Germans did not give the tank engine, which was responsible for the SSM! Bmc is a domestic, national, competent and talented company.

Let's close the project, forget about the money spent. Then let's go and buy tanks from the USA and Germany.

Then let's remember Şakir Zümre and our old aircraft manufacturers and grieve.

BMC is already producing armored vehicles at the factory in Bornova, Izmir. Kirpi, Altuğ, Tulga etc. Bmc will not manufacture all parts of the tank. Therefore, there is no need for a very large production area. Bmc's most important business is design and development. Bmc will produce certain body parts and assemble them with parts from other manufacturers.

To speed up to production. Is Any element of the Altay tanks in production? I know we have problem about engine and transmission and finally we will get solution in a very short time. Tanks not only consist from them. I expect, final design freezed. Or what happened if we start to produce them for example
Pallets sets
Drive sprockets
Idlers
Road wheels
Turrets
Barrels
Electronics
Sensors
Some chassis parts
Etc etc...
