How many of these are modern tanks?
In case of us they got around 5,500 M1 iirc.
For others it is mostly much older cold war era stuff.

Not all of those M1's are the same standart. There are lots of older versions in the storage. They have the same hull but capabilities are very different. ( The first M1 model even has 105mm gun and this is just the gun.)

All of the stored Abrams are either A1 or A2 models.
first baseline model M1 is completely out of commission.

I didn't see any visual content about auto loader of Fırtına II howitzers either.
I think not published yet.

Found a short footage from Korea, wrongly labeled as „Firstina“ 2 😅
Also autoloaders of PzH 2000 and K9A2 in video added. There must be a longer clip of Turkish source …

That's what I was hoping to hear. Much more plausible than the 8 tanks in the first month that that clickbait twitter account said.

Do we know which factory these will be produced in? Last I remember, the tank factory hadn't been built yet.
I assume in Tank-Palet factory. Later the production would move to the factory in Ankara once it will be completed.

The first two Altay tanks will be delivered with a Korean powerpack. Armed forces will hold trials for the tanks. In 2025 Altay will switch to a national powerpack.

The President hinted at more “good news” in the defense industry in 2023 and said two Altay main battle tanks would be handed over to the army for tests before mass production is scheduled to start two years later.

In addition to combat helicopters and other military equipment, Altay is one of the most important projects Türkiye has been working on to boost defense capabilities amid threats and conflicts on the border.

“After completing the tests of the new Altay tanks, I hope we will start mass production together with our project partners by 2025. We will not stop (advancing) in the defense industry,” Erdoğan stated.

M60-2000

An M60 tank mixed in with an Abrams.

General dynamics pitched in this as a modernisation plan for Turkish m60s but it was rejected and the M60 sabra was chosen.

They try to pitch it to Egypt and Greece but ultimately got rejected.

Interesting how this tank could have been the next modernised M60 for the Turkish army
