I agree.

With those specs, I would say impossible.
It is not. Most of the R&D is already done with Altay. In fact, things will get cheaper for other projects. When you go from 68-70 tons to 50 tons tanks get a lot cheaper. For example, there is a huge price and availability difference between a tightly packaged 1500hp powerpack (engine, transmission, and cooling solution) and a 1000hp diesel generator. This is true like every single mechanical part.

ALTAY TANK THIS SUMMER IN THE INVENTORY...

- The Altay Tank Project is one of the most anticipated projects in Turkey. Given this, I asked when we would see it in the inventory:

"As you know, we had delivered two units. By the upcoming summer months, the products will be ready. They will enter the inventory. Mass production is planned and scheduled to continue as planned, starting in the summer of 2025. The entire BMC company, the main contractor, and subcontractor companies are working together very harmoniously. There are some components that we procure at the intermediate stage. The installation and assembly work for those are going very well. It will be a year in 2025 when we will share good news."

Any picture of the latest Altay?

Is it true that Qatar already ordered 100 Altay tanks? I must have missed this news or forgotten, but wiki shows that to be the case. However when i look at the source the link is no longer working.

A Qatari minister i believe did mention unofficially and the 100 number was mentioned by another source, but no deal is made yet.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz made statements regarding the ALTAY Tank serial production activities during the Turkish Grand National Assembly General Assembly.

“The Altay tank was normally expected to enter the inventory in 2015. This delay occurred because Germany did not grant an export license for the subsystems in the configuration, especially the engine and transmission. Altay tanks are planned to start mass production and enter the inventory in August 2025.

Just on this project specifically, i am thinking they should only let us know when it's done. Not what is planned, or set to happen.

The news said signed the deal

But like the deal of T-129 to pakistan,it can be canceled because of the delay for many years

Germans have also embargoed MTU engines on continuation of I-class frigates and that hasn't led to 10 years of delay. TN and acquisition agency, along with design sat down and evaluated and continued with alternative supplier.

Now it feels so wrong already if vice president, not BMC or SSB comes out to defend the project and talk about ot. BMC has no face, SSB fed up with BMC's lack of cooperation in every matter and slowing everything down in their own favor. Including Leo upgrade program.

Literally every single person I know and talked to saw this coming. Like this outcome was so painfully obvious, and i hate to bring politics into this discussion every knows it was blatant favoritism/nepotism thanks to BMC's close alignedment with the AKP and Erdogan. I remember most members at defencepk flatout said as much, but some AKP aligned members were quick to defend it. I have grown to absolutely despise BMC as a contractor and corrupting influence on an otherwise meritocratic and fair acquisition process. Even their most succesfull product is a bought license from Hatehof.

Wow!
So what diesel engine have we chosen for the remainder 7 ships?
Wartsilla?
Is that also going to be a problem for the soon to be produced TF2000 destroyer?

This is our most difficult Wunderwaffen.

Even Kaan is earlier ready than Altay.

I dont know how someone can compare anything or any of our developments to anything Nazi. Even if it was meant as a joke and this is not the first time you have done it.

But on the bright side, I'm glad to hear SSB has gotten tired of BMC. Wasnt it Tosyali that bought BMC after the first failure ? So this failure is on them now ?

I also noticed a certain brownose has stopped posting.

I think that word didnt mean Nazi but just mean "wonder-weapon" ?

Just like KAMIKAZE didnt meant any link to Japanese empire

About that. Yalçıntaş resigned nearly a year ago in jan 2024. Did they even appoint a new CEO since then? What the hell is happening at BMC?

It has nothing to do with Nazi’s.

The ‘Wunderwaffen’ were a series of next-gen state of the art German weaponry that didnt reach mass production in time to change the outcome of World War II.

Altay, Kaan, Anka-4 etc are our Wonderweapons, but will they reach mass production in time before World War III ?
